Fairy Tale is weird and funny; but mostly weird.
That sounds like WoW’s story so I guess I’m playing a trashy anime already.
And yet it still isn’t as over the top as Jujutsu Kaisen.
They are empowered with Azeroth energy rather than titan energy now.
The world soul down there had better be benevolent or this is all going to turn very ugly on us.
Well obviously…
It kind of pertains to your point as it has 3 main characters called Dragon Slayers who are also friendly to dragons.
Seems kinda analogous to the Europeans interactions with the American Indian tribes back in the day, in that certain tribes (dragons) allied with the Europeans (the players) to take down the tribes that were busy domineering n sacrificing em etc.
I get that. But the objective was to empower the aspects to save the dragon isles.
What ended up happening was the opposite of that. Saving the dragon isles empowered the aspects.
Because races aren’t uniform groups and hiveminds, I suppose.
Similar to how we’ve spent decades killing all manner of human bandits, brigands, and cultists and Anduin isn’t like “how dare you!”
Anduin is constantly like “how dare you!”. I’m pretty sure he gives us a solid howdareyou at the end of the raid for Drazar’alor and that whole thing was his idea and stuff.
Was getting their aspect powers back actually a part of the plan at any point or something that just randomly happened to them at the end after saving the tree?
Because the dragons you killed dropped gray lewts.
The origional plan was
Oath Stones → Apect powers → Victory.
The plan in reality was
Violence → Victory → Aspect Powers → Wait tables at elf party.
Ah right, I forgot about the oath stones.
It’s okay, so did the writers.
We forgot about them because they put it on a backburner so we could have the intended lineup for raid tiers instead of just obliterating them.
I feel like these stories come out of the gate strong then get totally derailed in the second patch.
Off to the goblin casino-city we go on a perhapse tangentially related adventure! Xal’a-who?! Look! That’s a robot dinosaur fighting a gorilla!
BfA being the absolute masterclass on this, I’d agree with you.
Second patch syndrome is as old as time.
Like, remember when we went to Northrend to fight the Scourge and stop the Lick King?
And then one patch later we were in Ulduar fighting Norse gods, robot Gnomes and a mouth with mouths lol
I just want to be both smelly and salty
