How can Calia change the Forsaken?

Grandblade coming in with some hot truth.

Calia’s big issue is that she really doesn’t mesh with the majority of the Forsaken representation and themes. You have to look back at individual Forsaken over the years and how they’ve acted, even without Sylvanas breathing over their shoulders to see the chasm of a disconnect there is between her and the people she’s supposed to lead.

Benedikt recently reminded me of the random Forsaken aspirant in the Argent Tournament grounds who claims to have punched a penguin just to see Paletress’s reaction. How would Calia react to that? Same way Paletress, a human, would.

Zelling becomes an Undead so he could continue to live with his loving family and was promptly rejected to the point he lashed out at them. Calia was immediately accepted by those around her and has not shown any effects on her psyche.

Jeremiah Peyson, our beloved cockroach vendor, was one of the many Forsaken who abandoned their names to take on new ones to shed their old lives. When his old identity is brought before him and given a chance to reclaim his old life and home, he declines. Calia is now trying to reclaim her old life, something many Forsaken have either thrown away or are finding alternate methods of doing so (Like the Darkhound trainer in Vengeance Landing).

Calia represents a return to the old, where many Forsaken have opted to adapt and change in order to survive. She radiates light and kindness when many Forsaken are driven by less positive emotions and prefer the shadows.

If Calia is going to work we’re going to need to darken that light-bulb quite a few shades.
