If it is like every expanse some of it would get nerfed ,then fixed again even when they polish the game because bugs happen. Then later they add some more stuff to keep us busy which makes it even more complex . What balance?

In other words? I’ve been playing MMO’s from UO in the late 1990’s until now. There’s always going to be balance issues. If the game only had three classes? One of those class forums would be screaming about how unbalanced the other two are.

In my opinion, with tools like Simcraft, if the first tier isn’t a total disaster, it’ll be pretty good for the next raid tier. The big issue is the matrix of builds, but that can be automated easily. The APL is the hard part. Once community does good, Blizzard does good.

By viable you mean it’s viable for WorldFirst M raid kills and M+30 runs on the first day. Then no, and they will 100% never get to that point.
100% absolutely. The only way there won’t ever be FOTM is if Blizz prunes all abilities and gives everyone a “attac”, “heal self”, “protec self” button and they all do the same amount with like some different visual effects to fit class theme. FOTM is here forever.

About as balanced as any other content blizz has ever released - including after their nerf/buff patches - its still never balanced.
As long asa its not broken and playable - im good.
If you play Mage, it’s perfectly balanced.
Never upto the expectations of the players who are vocal about it as usual

If I sit cross-legged and at an angle, I can balance my laptop on my lap, while still having access to my mouse, and enjoy both WoW and my couch simultaneously. Balanced.

LOL No. Even if things are kinda balanced at launch there’s no way it’ll stay balanced. This is going to be two years of buffs and nerfs and covenant swapping. Power tied to covenants is going to be the biggest flaw of Shadowlands. I just hope it’s not azerite armor big.
My understanding is that the problem isn’t access to computers capable of running complex calculations. It’s about programming the complex calculation to begin with. Patchwerk is a pretty simple sim from my understanding - and blizzard likely either doesn’t feel like it’s worth the time to create complex enough sims to mimic real-in-game situations - or they fundamentally don’t agree that balance should be done “by the numbers” and instead try to balance for subjective human “feel” and “fun”.
Let me put it this way. They had the whole of 8.3 to rebalance Corruptions to fix the initial nightmare and here we are still with the current useless vs broken OP set of Corruptions and people think a system 100x more complex than Corruptions is going to be balanced out of the gate?
Seriously?? It’s going to be levels of imbalance beyond imagining.

Not very. They can’t even balance all specs of the classes as it is, now they’re yet again tossing in borrowed power that, in some cases, radically changes how the specs play? Oh my. No way.
I’ve always felt they should not have different specs at all. You’re a Mage, you’re a Shaman, you’re a Warrior, etc. Take the iconic abilities of those fantasy classes and roll it into ONE. That’s it. That would make balance way easier and also allow for more varied classes to be added. For example, Necromancer, right now Affl Warlock and Unholy DK got that covered so, yeah, see?
Classes but NO specs, make them different classes. They’d be able to add more variety but still not have anywhere near as many classes total as we currently have specs total which would make it all so much easier to balance.
I think the delay is less about class balance and more about bugs, lack of content, class abilitys not functioning
Blizzard bit off more than they can chew with covenants/soulbinds/etc.
The only balance that will exist in World of Warcraft is Balance Druids.
