Everyone should be able to play his spec, no matter what you have in your party/group.
Thing is that Blizz tends to hardly try making sure there is diversity, it’s still a good point, but when you aren’t in raid, and try to do pvp 3v3 or even mythic + , Aug evoker can meet difficulties to be taken.
I think their gamestyle should focus on mainaining two nearby allies under its buff.
like adding to these allies fixed amount of additionnal damage on their next spell/attack, based on Evoker Aug primal main stats ( intelligence it is ? I guess )
Yes i feel that a gamestyle like Dancer form FF14 would be great too !
Having only one mate to perma buff, would be good if right balanced, it’s like when you have one healer priest and one dps priest in the same M+ , both won’t PI the same mate. Except if there is a huge gap between the two other dps.
This. Honestly blizz was stupid for testing it the way they did. For this kind of thing you either go all in or it doesn’t work.
They should have added a Bard class and made it the “priest of support specs” by giving it like a half dps half support spec, an all support spec, and a healer spec that still has a bit of support.
That way it becomes an issue of ignoring an entire class or not, and as we got more specs that has a support focus they could compete for that spot. As it stands now it’s just a spec on a class that has other options. They’ll see it as a failure but it was a doomed experiment from the start.
I think this is the only way really. The more you buff your allies, the more comparable dps you may do. However, people are also comparing it to another dps class, not realizing that it’s like comparing how much dps a healer does . . it’s not meant for that per se.
I don’t think it’s bad if they can buff many. It’s just that the buffing up others dps should be enough to cover their own lost dps, right? And you get better defenses as well.
That’s what I thought the class would be. Say Overwatch and Brigitte. She’s a support class with sub-tanking, not a pure tank. Compared to the other tanks, she may not be as good as a tank tank, but she brings something else to the table to make up for it.
So everyone who keeps saying, “well I do more dps on my lower ilvl” it’s like comparing your dps to a healer in raid. They’re not buffing their dps, it’s meant to buff YOURs.
So finding that balance of how someone who just mashes buttons vs actually can make you pump ungodly amounts of dps is hard.
TDLR: make them able to buff offensives and defensives for everyone else to make up for their loss of dps - so everyone else does more dps comparably.
They should just convert the spec in pure dps now.
They won’t introduce new support now after this failure. They didn’t create a new role, it’s just one of the 30 other dps spec. That’s why it compares.
We have no tool to directly see in game your support, and details don’t really offer the true dps.
Nice try, learn and adapt. Make it a pure dps. But probably they don’t. They are working on the new tinker class for Midnight I guess.
Nowadays they stop to work on balancing the game. Way too much complexity. They roll the meta and want us to adapt I suppose.
I tried going Aug for Bandit and Mug with my heroic team and my contribution overall was so much less than as a dps it was hilarious. Sure, I’m no pro at aug and I know it’s still team dependent, but the the lack of power from the spec was just awful and it seems little more than a gimmick spec at the moment.
Make aug a tank spec. Let me be the best dragon I can be.
