How are these people getting to level 40-50 or higher?

Because of course I am playing wow hardcore I see a lot of wow hardcore content on tiktok and youtube, I keep seeing videos of people who are level 30, 40, 50 or even higher and they die to the absolutely stupidest things.

Level 44 warrior charges into a group of 7 level 46’s
Hunter just face tanks 3 mobs while his pet is only on one, then never at any point tried to FD.
Rogues not using any CC and trying to aoe facetank mobs.
Level 60 warriors that can’t stop doing BIG PUMPER DPS in raids and getting 1 tapped by bosses when they pull threat and then acting shocked.
Groups wiping because healer simply isn’t healing anyone for fear of pulling aggro.
Taurens never using stomp and dying with it on cooldown.
Everyone under the sun running from mobs into even MORE mobs.

Some of these you can claim they are streamers and artificially inflate the level of danger so it’s more exciting. Some of these you can claim are people panicking. But you’re telling me that all these people got to level the 40-50 and never were in any dangerous situations and had to react quickly to survive?

you get too comfortable, especially if youre a few hours in, and your brain kind of turns off from thinking about danger.

They play it safe and follow guides.

Also a lot of players panic when SHTF, so death clips certainly won’t tend to capture players making their best plays.

You’re seeing this on Youtube and Tik Tok?

The answer is simple.

They’re dieing for content.

Some people are used to grouping or have been leveling by running dungeons every day and the first time they try to solo have no idea how to play their class.

In OG vanilla I leveled my shaman most of the way to 60 following my friend the warrior around playing pocket healer. It wasn’t until I leveled the rest of the way alone and went into bgs that I finally got it.

I’m a 44 paladin atm. Sometimes I spend half the time I’m fighting an enemy looking at another monitor or multi-tasking because paladin combat is mostly just auto attacking. I do pay slightly more attention when I know I’m in an area with pats or a higher level rare spawn.

If I actually stayed focused on the game the entire time I would have quit at level 10.

Every once in a while, I’ll do something I know I shouldn’t. Why? Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Sometimes you just get cocky or maybe you’re 5 hours deep in a session and zone out.

It’s very easy for me to do this (especially on a Friday afternoon) because I like to relax and grind.

Netflix all the way to 60!
My current is 33 and I’m halfway through a 7 season series.

all it takes is 1 mistake
perfect play for 59 levels and then you do 1 stupid thing, it’s all over
it’s similar to chess in that way
that’s what makes it exciting :expressionless:

you people think everything is some dastardly scheme for eyeballs :expressionless:

They die because they engage autopilot from having played “normal” wow for so long, not worrying about a random death, and then when they do die reality sets in for how they were in hardcore wow with only one life.

Extremely difficult to reprogram your brain from having played a game for x amount of years with unlimited deaths to suddenly only one life in a very short amount of time.

Moral of the story is don’t get comfortable (easier said than done).

They get too comfortable, eventually they forgot they are playing hardcore. You are required to play perfectly

My average death is dropping down to like lvl 8 lol its hard too hard to care after a while

nobody should be dying below lvl 10, come on :expressionless:

Just hit level 49 and honestly 20-49 has felt easier and safer (although, longer time spent) than 1-20 did. Particularly 11-20 imo.

yeah 20-49 is there to lull you into a false sense of confidence. careful or you’re gonna die at like 53 :expressionless:

Lucky for me I play the easymode class that supposedly cannot die - hunter. Despite being only middle of the pack for survivability.

You spelt paladin wrong.

Truthfully, it’s really difficult to not get overconfident on my hunter. He just facerolls mobs.
