Amen, bro!
WPL and EPL were a BLAST!
my second vanilla level 60 was a ret pally. I will tell you how they are: They are alliance.
If itâs just for farming mats why not roll a mage or hunter.
Lonely [10char]
Retribution paladins are just a conspiracy theory. They donât exist.
Iâm planning on coming in with a ret pally and balance druid and wasnât sure which to main. This thread has convinced me druid is the way to go.
Both are memes but at least Oomkins are fluffy
Paladins level very slowly. Be warned my friend.
Ret in pvp can be fun, but never forget the utility on top of potential burst you bring. A well played Paladin, regardless of spec, can change the tide of battle.
Dungeons no on will care too much. Even then, you can get a healing set and heal as Ret in them as need be.
For raids your dps will be lower. Maybe by Naxx you could outshine Hunters in the meter. That being said a real contributor to the guild will go a long way. If you get Nightfall, farm mats for consumes, always are ready to help GuildiesâŚ
You may just be surprised to find out they bring you to the raid. Networking does quite a bit. Find a raiding guild and always help out. Be available for key runs, etc. Have the will and you can make it happen.
It will be more work than other classes to raid in that spec, but not impossible. I guess it depends if you have the desire for it.
Also yes there was plenty of lolret in comments. I did dungeons as Ret, but I also removed debuffs, offhealed, took over healing if need be, blew lay on hands if necessary.
Its not optimal, but doable.
Ret pallies and enhance shaman are meme specs at best in classic WoW.
Sometimes you proc SoCommand or Windfury multiple hits in a row and dumpster the mob/player.
Other times you sit there for 45 seconds auto attacking a mob to death praying for a proc.
lolret
This is where the meme was born. If you donât like healing, donât roll a paladin.
Most memes are dumb, as are people who rely on them to make decisions.
Play as you want. Ignore the morons.
In the case of ret paladins they chose the best healing class in the game and decided nah I want to do weak dps.
So the joke is valid I donât know why you would try to claim otherwise.
Because itâs a fun spec to play. I liked it more back in the day than I do now.
Well I got excited when I heard Classic was going to be a reality. I havenât enjoyed WoW as much as I did when the talent system was the old system. But these forums have demoralized me after hearing the only class/spec/role I am interested in to play in Classic is Ret Paladin DPS. I want to raid and do other endgame dungeons, but judging by these forums thatâs likely not going to happen. Maybe I will wait for a classic TBC server, which is when Ret Paladins actually get to play the game.
Donât give up yet. Research the spelladin.
I will some more. I think it was deep Holy though. One of my fondest memories in WoW was leveling a Paladin during the WoTLK days and being able to stand toes to toe with mobs in gnomer with my party, using all of my utility to help keep the party alive as a DPS. One time my group was wiping and I was able to get agro to tank since the tank died, and help keep myself up with heals while the healer recovered from the group almost wiping. Good days. I was hoping to relive those days, except in classic. Be a Paladin, but not shoe-horned into casting FoL the entire raid with buff refreshing etc.
Use Ret to get to 60. Go healer. Get an easy spot in raids and enjoy yourself. Once you have full tier 2.5 change to ret and have a ton of fun in PVP.
Or I can not spend months of my life doing something I donât enjoy. The healing role is boring. I enjoy supporting my team, but staring at health bars 3 hours a night, multiple nights a week, for months/years on end for some purple pixels is not my idea of time well spent.
Youâd think after having 15 years of getting older that people would be more open-minded and inclusive, and let people play what they enjoy. Especially since DPS requirements arenât so stringent where you need to mix/max to defeat bosses. But it seems people have not grown all that much over the years.
