Come clean with your partner right now. Tell them that you lied and this is what your plan is and be prepared to deal with the consequences. You have two weeks to convert your partner. Offer to cook or clean or something that you do not normally do around the house. Offer anything and everything that would make thier life easier, exciting, or fun to compromise and follow through. If you can’t deal with the consequences in two weeks and they will not compromise then you have to choose between a relationship with your partner and your selfish desire to play a video game. If you have the funds to support yourself without your partner for your sabbatical, if you have no children, and if you aren’t married then by all means enjoy life and have fun.
