How "Alt-friendly" would you rate TBC?

Lol. That is 1000000% untrue

How was I able to raid then without doing any attunements for a month then?

You probabaly didn’t start raiding until well after all the attunenements were nerfed/removed.

It remains to be seen how they’ll handle attunements, all we know is they’ll be there but they’ll be more friendly.

Where are you getting that from?? Oh you mean where they said it wont be one drop a raid like it originally was, effectively gating the content until it was changed? I think that was a given…

Super doable if you’re avoiding raiding.
Here’s TBC’s alt-friendly perks:

  • ~33% less exp needed per ding til ~60
  • All elite lowbie quest mobs are now squishy non-elites and very solo friendly (exception for Hogger for some reason), while their associated quests still give elite group-quest exp.
  • The first introduction of Unofficial Heirloom Gear! Enchant +1% haste to some lvl 1 gloves and pants, and obtain and enchant 1% haste to a lvl 1 non-binding bloodelf starting mask, and you now have +30 haste rating which is +~80% passive attack speed for the first 30 levels. Even as a caster you can quickly staff slam mobs to death!

Also if you decide to raid later Blizzard has implied a lessening of attunement restrictions, likely to help keep GDKP and Gold Buying alive.

I was raiding in TBC before then, I know this because TBC was when I STARTED to raid in wow. You don’t forget stuff like that.

You’re definitely just misremembering then. I dunno what to tell you

“clearly you are misremembering” yeah that was said about vanilla too, look how well that blew up in peoples faces.

Literally no idea what you’re on about now but I’m sure it’s not related.

You had to be attuned to enter BT/Hyjal until the SWP patch. EIther you’re just completely forgetting the process or you didnt start raiding until the SWP patch. Full stop.

Source? Where was that implied??

Naw, +30 SP to a skinning knife was the first.

Yep IIRC some patch removed Kara/SSC attunements and another later one removed BT/Hjal and made heroics more accessible, but maybe those were both together, unsure.

Well I’m trying to find it and I can’t. Maybe I misunderstood the answer to some blizzcon Q&A. I’ll keep looking, If I don’t reply again I’m wrong af.

I’d say very alt friendly 58-70 is pretty ez in TBC especially if you are a big quester. There is more than enough quests to get you to 70 and still have more to do, many offer good rewards. Many people will be dungeon running too so rep shouldn’t be much of a problem. Some argue that attuning isn’t friendly but tbh it’s not as bad as people think and besides the tiers are gonna be stagger released so you have time to do them.

I guess how alt friendly depends on what you want to with the alts. If you level all your characters through dungeon spam and then quests they’ll be revered for heroics and bgs don’t have a requirement… Except for the resilience gear but you could buy some resilience gear with spirit shards too if your faction has the towers in terrokar forest.

I imagine you’ll still have to run SSC/TK after the phase starts but yea, in general it should be easier.

There’s a blue PVP set too with PVP-oriented set bonuses that you get from honored rep with the various factions

It’s been awhile since I don’t play on private servers but from the YouTubez, it sounds like those need marks as well as honor, right? Which getting the marks for the hear requires some of the gear… Unless I misunderstand the different sources of resilience gear.

The blue set is just 10 gold or so each once you have reputation. The pieces are scattered throughout the factions though

I thought the conversion to gold came in a later patch.

Well this just means I need beta to come out soon so we can start getting official info on these things.
