[HOUSING) decoration unlocks

Hear me out. What if there was an npc that we put work orders in with skill that made the items. The twist is that we have to help npc level up their crafting skills by bring them mats. WoD logging could be used as a gather profession like fishing. Items made by the npc would not be soul or account bound so people could sell them on the AH.

Sorta like Nomi but nothing is burning.

That sounds like fun! But still resources I’d be surprised if they took the time to mess with.

YET

“Opulent” sounds like either a manor home like Waycrest or Greymane manor, or Den of Mortal Delights/Karazhan, and I am all for mini Den/Kara.

Was there a new trailer?

No, was just rewatching the first one they showed.

There are still a lot of unknowns about how housing will actually work and how much freedom of customization we will actually have.

Clearly there are many new collections that could be created for different kinds of decorations: furniture, art, trophies, wallpaper textures, etc. But will this actually happen? shrug

Depending upon how customizable these things are, I think the ability for player-made ‘blue prints’ would be interesting.

Wildstar level would be fantastic but I don’t expect that at all.

We’ll likely get a few preset floorplans/layouts - hopefully with more being added as time goes on - with maybe a few options for moving around rooms.

I prefer to infer nothing from Blizzard so I can be pleasantly surprised on this subject

I am hoping they have a hook system similar to SWTOR. Depending on the size of the house, we get X amount of hooks and have a decorations menu the same way we have a Mog menu. Choosing specific items for placement. I would hate to see my house look like 7M others.

I always joked if I ever lived in a gated community, I’d be the idiot wound up shot cause I walked into my next door neighbor’s 100% identical house without realizing it.

Most housing tracks these days, especially in the southwest all seem to look alike LUL

It should be another tab in Collections if they’re logical about it.

I agree that this is a great opportunity to add new fun things to the game!

Back in the day, in Ultima Online, carpenters could make furniture, alchemists could make dyes to change the color of armor, using fishing you could “catch” paintings from shipwrecks to put on the walls in your house, and I believe herbalists could grow plants to place around the house as well.
