For all the wrong reasons.

I realize that I’m weird. But I liked SL. A lot. I had to head cannon it as a completely different game that somehow my characters found themselves in with some familiar NPC’s.

But darn it, lore breaking aside, it was amazing.

There was so much to do. Get each armor class to maximum reknown in each covenant’s proprietary activities to get all the (to me) amazing mogs. Neat tricky pet tames for my Hunters and special mounts to pursue like Blanchy. Amusing dialogue with the NPC’s.

Call me crazy, but I just don’t think DF or TWW has the same spark

My one SL question, why didn’t the player base get to pick the Arbiter?

Shadowlands was going to be the chance to continue the lich kings story. We got a slow wheezing fart. A half finished story. Other leading story ended in nothing. The winter queen story didn’t continue or ended. The devourer story died out mid way. The kyrian story was complete garbage and made no sense. The areas were color washed red blue green purple generic areas. Well maldraxxus story was great but was left as an afterthought too.

The expansion had lots of good stories to explore. They were all literally left hanging or got the game of thrones treatment. Cut quickly and made no sense.

Gameplay wise. We got a horrible first season where people got stuck in subpar builds that couldn’t be changed till blizzard got literally yelled into doing it. The only good season. The season people say were mostly season three and four the good seasons where all the bugs and terrible mechanics were fixed or patched.

Memorable by how bad it was for sure. Fire 2 major patches were stinky doo-doo.

While we’re on the topic of shadowlands, I’d like to point out the BIGGEST gripe I had with it

This expansion delved deeper into lore about mourneblades than we ever saw before in other expansions. Yet it COMPLETELY failed to point out the fact that we HAVE made our own mourneblade WITHOUT the influence or perhaps even KNOWLEDGE from the Jailer.

Shadowmourne had NO hidden dialogue, NO lore pieces, NOTHING. When I feel like it should have at least been something worth bringing up.

I remember it made me quit retail before the first content patch came out then skip an entire expansion after it because it was so bad.

Personal i like shadowland and the covenant system. I heard from some that if borrow power wasnt tie to end game then it would of work. Again i like shadowland expansion from everything including the design and area. People always going to complain about something regardless how much effort that may went into it. Most people that complain dont understand the game wasnt just made for u and thats okay. You got classic wow if u want none of the bs that retail got or just play another altogether. You have a choice.
