Hot take: Shadowlands was a good expansion

The MAW punished classes that are methodical and take their time. For example Rogues: Sap target 1, blind target 2, etc. Rogue game play is about being methodical and not guns blazing into a fight.

The story was a mess, yet it was still more fun to play than TWW

It was like a choose your pathway storyline!

I dunno about that…

I’m being serious. I’m not playing either xpac.

Shadowlands was the last expansion that I enjoyed.

One of them had to be “less fun” than the other, unless you really thought they were exactly the same I guess?

Sure, I loved the covenant abilities themselves and I’m glad the best ones have been baked into the talent trees. We got Divine Toll and Blessing of Seasons, Druids got Convoke, Monks got Stomp / Weapons of Order / Bonedust Brew etc. But they work SO MUCH BETTER as talents than as hard-locked borrowed power that it’s not even funny.

I was just saying I have no idea which one sucks more. Or is the better one.

Which ever way you like to think of your glass.

The ideas weren’t terrible, but execution was horrifically bad in my opinion. A lot like much of BFA, great ideas, terrible execution and too much unfun grinding.

I liked Shadowlands, and feel like it’s the last expansion they put some real effort into. Since Dragonflight, it’s felt templated and more generic.

(I liked DF and some of the fun stuff like the Iskaara Feast, just not as distinctive as SL)

Drawback to SL. Korthia grind went on for months. But Torghast was amazing and wish we had it insead of delves.

I find it funny that shadowlands had stripped down “talents” but expansive of many different aspects of the game, like table, torgast ect…
Now we have the almost same talent tree as Dragonflight + a 10 point block that we can switch between, but no identity for the zones themselves that a player can feel connected to. Delves are fun solo content I guess, but other that, there seems to be a lack of activities to do

But popular streamers told me to dislike SL and enjoy DF!

I enjoyed everything in Shadowlands except the main story, which I admit was very disappointing.

That said, AI bait isn’t the way to go.

I do see more players in SL zones than TWW zones, Oribos was jumping this morning.

Then you realize the sheer amount of either cut content or timegating.

Fated wasn’t supposed to happen. They quite literally cut an entire season and raid from the game.

Speaking of endgame. Choreghast. 200k+ legos. Severly gimped choice with covenants (balancing) and also being cov locked.

I will give you castle and sanctum being fun and m+ was great.
I enjoyed zm. Korthia sucked and we had waaaaay too much time spent in the maw.

200k Legos were not the problem, a lot easier to get your set of legos in SL than in DF or TWW right?.. oh you are hunter, no lego for you! muahahahha.

Korthia was a chore, and it feels more like what the “isles” patch of x.7 has become.

Easy? yes.
Expensive? Also yes.

Each individual lego was 200k. And later on, you needed 2.
2 per spec per build per character.

Then another 200k per season to upgrade your legos lol.

Also I have no idea what being a hunter on the forums has to do with legos or df or tww.
Evokers got legos in df, no one has them now.
Also Im a dk main, but I play everything :joy: no idea where you were going with any of this.

Oh boy.

We all knew where this was going.

This is a self fulfilling prophesy. So many people complained about Shadowlands that they cut bait and ended it early by chopping out a season. My guess is that the season they cut was suppose to be the Arthas season.

Then the same people who pushed them into cutting SL short now complain that they were successful and the deves cut out a season. Classic example of the self fulfilling prophesy.
