On Era almost all eventually pug with alts and their mains when they are bis. Nobody will keep raiding bis toons with non-gdkp guilds unless they are speed runners almost all will eventually run with alts in their guild (except very few exceptions).
I’ve never organized a GDKP and you won’t catch me in a SR pug on anniversary ever. It only took a couple bad SR to make me never ever want to attend one again unless it is a very specific situation.
Instead I pvp on Era and enjoy a self-found toon on hardcore. No anniversary for me, and I know multiple others with similar thoughts.
i love how this person argues in favor of gdkp, but ends up constantly and consistently proving why it was banned in the first place. that person is actualy hurting the pro gdkp movement.
I’m still waiting for the old man to explain why buying raid gear with gold ISNT an advantage. Idc about your insults or your deflections, just answer the question. Oh wait he prbly blocked me because these guys block people when you call them out on the bs that is gdkp. The ban was successful and is still successful, SOURCE: it’s still banned a year and a half after it was banned with radio silence on the topic.
I never said it wasn’t an advantage, and that’s why it’s a good thing. It gets more people into raiding, that might not have gotten into raiding, and guarantees gear.
It’s an advantage and an awesome one to have at that.
BUT, everybody could have had the advantage. Until some people wanted it removed, I doubt the ones crying have actually tried GDKP before.
Not in anniversary. It’s a horrible experience. So we just don’t level or play alts and raid log instead. Might be able to field an additional guild alt raid or two, but for those who like to have 5+ raiding alts there is no way to facilitate that without pugging.
And gdkp offered the best pug experience for those players.
Also yet again confirming that a supermajority of gdkp players are alts in raiding guilds. Raiding guilds who likely run multiple raids per week already, who want an option to run even more alts without trying to squeeze 25 people into the same exact raid schedule 5 days per week. (Which is impossible)
not to be obtuse, but if you can raid in a guild on a main, why cant you raid in a guild with an alt? make it make sense.
do you have some sort of proof to offer of this? because at this point its only anecdotal, which is fine, but im curious if you have something to offer,
why would you want to go through the stress again of having to suffer through guild loot rules and learning the people when you can just hop into a raid have the option to buy stuff or get a payout or both and call it a day?
You can. But after a certain amount of raids, you can’t field a whole raid team of alts. Not everyone runs the same amount of them.
And joining a 2nd, 3rd or 4th? guild is not a valid option. Most raid times will intersect at some point. Pugging is the most valid option for multiple alts.
I am speaking from my experience socializing, and getting to know the people I played with in gdkps playing 4-5 gdkp raids per week on the first iteration of classic.
Also, gdkps were a good recruitment tool if you did happen to run into someone not already om a guild, they wouldn’t stay that way for long. Someone would swoop them up.
imagine a pvp ladder where people could just pay to win all the loot rewards.
it wouldnt matter if “some people think that’s fun”. it would still be cheating. the same principle applies to PvE when gear, progression, and rankings matter.
Show me in the rules where it says Carrying is a violation and i’ll delete my character right now.
Actually i’ll help you.

Hmm… i Don’t… Seem… to see anything about Carrying. Must be something i’m glossing over.
Perhaps it’s something you made up in your head?
