not to jump in, but you are mad. thats why you guys viciously defend gdkp and cant/wont accept that its banned.

i forget who it was but the pointed out that you guys like to say were mad, but its you who is mad. we have nothing to be upset about. were in favor of gdkp ban, but it seems like you forgot that.
maybe you arent “mad” in the strictest sense of the definition, but the ban made you feel some type of way and here you are expressing it
The noise is the same both directions. It’s like 4 people on each side. Neither can claim to be a majority. Neither can claim that they aren’t still bothered by the topic. Certainly not the group against GDKP’s who, of the 4 biggest anti’s, can only attack anyone who disagrees with them.
It’s not like there’s much actual discussion in these threads. It’s like 4 people saying it should come back and why. And 4 people calling the other 4 RMTer’s.
this is why i said earlier that these threads need to be closed. its wild that they continue when nothing relevant has been added in at least 2, possibly even three or more weeks.
i thought we had a good discussion about gdkp. maybe you personally arent mad or upset about gdkp ban, but its pretty evident that at least a few people are, otherwise they wouldnt have to bump their threads every day. i dont think people against gdkp are mad that people are here defending them. i believe everyone can and should express themselves, within the code of conduct. at least for me, my issue now is that it comes off as spam, and as you have experienced, as well as i, that you cannot have an actual conversation with some of these people. its just a giant troll fest in these threads. no actual discussion and insults back and forth because neither side is willing to budge. the unstoppable force meets the immovable object, if you will.
we can have another nuanced discussion about gdkp if you want. im not here to insult you or your opinions simply because i might disagree with some of them.
but truth be told, i just dont think there is much else anyone can add to these conversations, and for that reason i think these threads need to be closed.
Yea it’s really just turned into a big shouting match at this point. Everyone’s just repeating themselves (whether it’s points made over the last year or just being hostile) and nothing is actually getting discussed at this point.
I still think Blizzard made the wrong choice. But I’m also well aware they basically don’t read anything on the forums. And even if you can prove them wrong (good luck without access to any data), they’ll never admit it.
The ban could actually be the worst thing for the game, maybe people bought millions of gold regardless. And we’d never know, and they’ll never tell us how bad it’s gotten.
I’m hesitant to guess that it’s been a good thing as well because otherwise I’m sure they’d be bragging about the impact of the ban but maybe they’re just waiting to see what happens once the server reaches EoL.
Either way the arguments have been made at this point and it’s just devolved.
i wish blizzard was transparent with these things. i think we as consumers have a right to know. or at least we should have the right to know.
i cant say if the ban has been good or bad. if its just the gdkp ban and nothing else gets expanded on (like boosting as an obvious example) then i think it may have had as many downsides and it did upsides. outside of social contructs, i dont believe the gdkp ban had any effect, but i also think being on megaserver has exacerbated all of these issues simply through concentration of bots and rmt users (buys and sellers alike) all on to pretty much the same server. whatever happens moving forward after the “vanilla” phase, i would hope and expect to see more changes from the devs. no boosting, no selling dungeon runs for gear, and things that bring players back to the progression, cooperation, and shared effort side. i think a lot of players would find the game more rewarding overall that way.
Honestly I think it’s just an issue with the reward structure of WoW and specifically with the classic versions.
They just don’t respect your time very well, and even less so when on an accelerated phase schedule. Arguing in favor of more rewards gets the typical “go to retail” argument as well.
And on the other end you have things like 6 months of Ulduar where after a certain point you’ve gotten all the loot because the phase has gone on for so long and so the only reward you can hope for from clearing the raid is to GDKP and get paid for still playing a month and a half after your guild went on break.
It’s resulted in a very skewed perception and 2 sides that are pretty at odds with eachother.
I think perhaps the direction to look into with a classic+ is more in favor of accelerating the availability of rewards (loot and gold) but also incentivizing people actually being online and in the world so the game doesn’t turn into raid logging for their 1 raid night a week. Though, I’m certainly not inclined to trust anything the current Blizzard calls classic+.
Forget bis, with the accelerated phases you’re lucky to get anything at all.
SoD BWL was a 3 month phase, my guild full cleared every reset on hard mode (3 chests with extra loot after Nef), I missed 0 bosses and I got 2 items, maybe 3 before AQ40 opened. And then my guild never went back to BWL. 4 pieces of the BWL tier they added in SoD are still bis in specific circumstances.
The problem with gear being that way is because the classic meta game isn’t about just killing the boss in the first place. It’s about how much harder you can smash the boss each week (parsing). If you clear every reset and never get an item due to not enough loot dropping is that really respecting your time?
In firelands on cata classic I missed 0 10 man resets and I never got a weapon from the raid. Never got my bis helmet, never got my bis ring. No bis trinket either. The items never dropped in the first place. Take that how you will but it’s not exactly a fun feeling.
Does it? A lot more people are complaining about Scarlet Enclave on SoD than are happy about it. The only thing to do on SoD is to raid log because they added nothing new with the new phase.
i didnt play that far into sod so i cant comment about that, but ive been playing anniversary since launch and can confirm that after 8 weeks of clearing bwl and 10+ (i did 10 weeks of mc but wasnt super fast to level to 60 and joined a guild that was already running mc)
anyways, i can confirm that after 10+ weeks of mc, plus 7 (or is it 8?) weeks of bwl (while still clearing mc obviously) that people are still competing over gear in mc, and not just new recruits were catching up. our main tank is mostly geared up because we funnel loot, but some of the off tanks and dsp warrs are still in dungeon blues. some of the mages are still in dungeon blues, and so forth. zg has been a realy good catch up raid though i do have to admit, but the shortened phases without increasing the loot drops even just a tiny bit is a measurable grief imo.
True. The fact so few are asking for it to be unbanned speaks volumes. And the few who do post on a variety of alts because they’re so desperate to paint a narrative.
On november 10th we killed Nef and I had drake talon pauldron’s and mdr lmao. I literally had 2 items from the raid and none were tier. That was like 2 months into tier hold on. Lemme find the one from right before AQ opening. Okay I was off by 1. I got 4 total items from BWL because I also got tier chest and gloves.
We just kept getting whatever the mage token was. I think both our mages had full healing tier sets.
There is no perfect place. There is no even playing field.
If homey wants to drop his rent on video game pixels that’s his idea of fun. Good for him. You want to save his soul? You want to tell him he shouldn’t have done that?? We all benefit though in a gdkp.
