I want rmt gone from the game and I know exactly what they can do to do it. Remove the AH and trading from the game bam no more bots. pro gdkpers say its a terrible idea. they just want their way of making gold back

More demand for gold on anniversary right now than on any GDKP server. Imagine when your economy is so ruined because of bots that they make more money selling to people who can only buy consumes and enchants.

If they are serious about policing the game, once someone buys RMT gold and then pulverize it by throwing it into the gdkp pot, whoever receives that money should be actioned against, there is precedent for that in private servers and it works. If you take half measures against gold buyers and sellers, the problem won’t go away. Without any serious enforcement, with gdkps you’re basically benefiting from RMT without the risk of getting banned since the whales buying gold will be taking that risk for you.
The main problem right now is that consumable prices are just out of hand, not being a part of a gdkp is just unbearable in those circumstances, most of the people that quit the game from my guild was either because they cba to farm every week or they quit because they got banned for buying gold. Would they still be playing if gdkp was a thing? Probably, but I also suspect they would also keep playing if plaguebloom wasn’t 4 times the normal price, compared to 2019.
Like I said before, the most realistic solution is to just have 2 realms, one with p2w adjacent activities and the other one without, people against gdkp won’t mind playing in a smaller realm where the overall server culture is against buying gold. Expecting this game to have any kind of meaningful enforcement of the rules is a pipe dream.
What about the people that cant play without botting? Should they open up a server for them aswell?
They should permanently ban the person sold the gold and the person who bought the gold end of story.
Banning people who get gold from others who broke the rules is silly because it works same with the auction house or just random trades etc you’d end up banning the entire server for rmt.
gdkp’s arent the problem the lack of policing of rmt/bots is the problem and if anything having gdkp’s if you go with the claim that people who gdkp are the people who rmt then it would mean it would become significantly easier to spot/find gold buyers and permanently ban them.
I think you missed the main point. That’s not gonna happen, you can argue all you want about what the problem is and what the ideal solution might look like, you have to look at reality as it is, bots and RMT are not going away, Blizzard is not going to put resources into it, policing the game is very expensive.
In that sense, gdkps are just a comfy way of benefitting from RMT without putting your account on the line.
The most cost effective solutions is to open a second realm with wow token, gdkp and boosts. Blizzard will get a cut of the profit, the boomer dads that only raid log will be happy and everyone else that don’t want to partake in this degenracy will have a place to play unbothered by these people.
they wont even do the 2 server thing there are already servers with gdkp.
I am not going to be participating in any gaming on future mega-servers, Classic is just not compatible with this size of population(not even counting the bots).
