Don’t log off just leave your corpse there empty and go outside so the camper waits there while you run to the store or get some dinner.
Truth hurts.
Sure. And, who does?
It would be interesting to better understand if faction balance is particularly the issue and/or if population sizes are an issue, and/or if action or lack of action from players is an issue.
Based on the numbers in raid logs, we are looking at somewhere between around 600 and 7000 raiding players per server (who have been recorded in logs).
If we look at some of the worse faction disparity, on PVP servers, that includes:
Horde Dominant
- 30:70 Skeram, Stalagg, Thalnos
- 35:65 Fairbanks, Deviate Delight, Yojamba,
Alliance Dominant
- 85:15 Heartseeker
With a majority of those with server faction population disparity around 40:60 including Faerlina, Herod, Whitemane, Arugal, Incendius, Blameaux, and others.
If we consider the populations of some of these servers, do we find similar conversations about faction imbalance on say Deviate Delight (with raid logs for only around 650 players) forums vs say Fairbanks (with a similar faction population disparity, but vastly larger population, showing over 5300 players on logs).
If we indeed have problems, perhaps we could explore defining precisely what those problems are, and what the trade offs of them are, whether we are willing to sacrifice the benefits, and what sorts of solutions might actually resolve the problems… if we have them, and if the require being resolved.
Only the weak ones will. Then there should be less tears on the forums.
This has to be a joke, Bigglesworth is horrible atm.
Then we will have post about not enough alliance players to pvp with. Have fun ganking 100 people spread across 6 horde dominated servers.
The flight paths and base locations really do make it easy though.
Except that it isn’t a universal truth, and that playing as the Horde on my server isn’t easy, especially compared to utterly broken servers like Stalagg and Herod.
Blizzard only uses the recommended serving size.
Who said that this has happened to me only once? I’ve been getting camped out in the open world more or less since I hit level 20 and ventured out into contested zones, and there have been many occasions where I’ve been camped trying to reach BRD or MC. Sure, it doesn’t happen every time, but I do expect to die at least once en route to most BRD runs.
ok so once at least. imagine its no less than 5 EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. this is on early morning hours on a server much smaler than some of them out there and as a rogue
Sometimes I have to remind myself it’s actually the norm now to be able to utterly dismiss a valid point over the charteristics of the person making it. Still can’t believe it.
You don’t need to convince me that faction balance is wrecked on other servers, I already agree with you on that. I’m just saying that Horde aren’t mindlessly steamrolling everywhere, like some people on the forums are insisting. Incendius has what I would consider to be a healthy amount of open world PvP going on.
That’s nice. For me, it is every occasion.
For me, it is every time.
For me, I expect to die 15-20 times for BRD and 10 for everywhere else.
See the difference? I don’t mean to harp on you. You seem thoughtful and sincere. But this is what’s frustrating with most horde responses. You can’t possibly understand. Just because you’ve been ganked a few times, or even many times… just because you’ve been steamrolled by a 40 man raid or two, doesn’t mean you get it. All you need to do is wait a few minutes until your overwhelming numbers make you relatively safe again and then you can go about your business and play the game. Alliance never have that luxury. Ever.
You need to be killed within seconds every time you land ANYWHERE. You need to be camped literally everywhere you go. You need corpse run EVERYWHERE. You need to wait for long periods of time to find a group because nobody is willing to do these things before you can finally run an instance (if you’re lucky). Then maybe you’ll understand.
Grouping makes no difference. Horde just wait a few minutes until their numbers overwhelm your group.
I get that you’re frustrated, but as I’ve repeated on this thread and on others, the faction imbalance on my server IS NOT BROKEN. As in, the Horde on my server wins as many open world world PvP fights as it loses, in my experience. I sure can travel with a PvP raid to find protection in numbers, but the Alliance raid that had the same idea will occasionally murder us and turn the tables. I don’t doubt for a moment that the PvP balance on your server is bad, but don’t assume that your situation is being repeated on all other PvP servers. Plenty of Horde players get butchered at FPs on Incendius, especially in neutral towns like Everlook. And Horde players on my server occasionally need to give up on running a dungeon, because an Alliance raid decided to camp the entrance for like 4 hours. The next day the Horde will do the same thing.
and what have live? with 0 faction Animosity or competition? literally fighting yourselves on locked in servers eventually getting to the point you are alone in a sea of people and literally dont have to work for anything. You know, the reason most Retail players quit live to come to classic?
I’m happy that your server balance isn’t broken. Truly, I am. Sounds like you can still enjoy the game. That’s good!
To be fair though, I never said this was happening on every server. But it’s clearly happening on many. And that’s a problem.
Some Horde understand. Check out the Heartseeker forums. It’s therapeutic in a way.
Fotm Horde will just laugh and pat themselves on the back.
They are the wannabe edgy faction, but really they are just sheep who rely on other sheep to win.
We are in agreement. I’m not sure how to fix the faction imbalance issue on PvP servers, but clearly it’s something Blizzard needs to take a look at.
