That maybe true. I wasn’t much for the forums back then. But I remember reading quite few articles about how paladins made raiding easier and most end game raiders felt it was an unfair advantage for the Alliance. But I can also remember having conversations on how neither side really wanted to share the classes, as it gave each faction their own unique experiences/identity.
Everyone but their women have scoliosis. They can’t even stand upright, an ape can do it better. Why bother with a tabard when you can’t see it under their hunch? The Alliance bowed them and they didn’t recover. The only thing they need to complete the “look” is holding a funnel to their ear.
That’s what gives the horde is strength. We call it the Horde POWER CURVE.
Everyday we haunch more and more to bear the weight of the alliance cry babies.

Leveling wise ghost wolf and astral recall are huge QoL improvements (and astral recall just in general because 1 hour hearth CDs). I really like having grounding totem as well, it’s been pretty useful in some of the 5 mans in beta.
In the long run things like mana efficiency and the ability to AoE tank at 60 would probably make me prefer Paladin in smaller scale PvE. In PvP shaman have an enormous PvP-centric toolkit though. 5-6 second CD interrupt + grounding totem + tremor totem + multiple snares + WF totem for warriors + offensive dispel.
For most people it probably isn’t even much of a choice if most of your friends want to be one or the other. I was thinking of trying Alliance in classic because I was mostly Horde in retail, but I may end up being Horde again if people I want to play with want to be Horde.
Here we have it. All necessary skills to make the alliance cry for their moms. BEHOLD THE ULTIMATE LIFE FORM THE ShaMAN!
Side note Earth shock is also 1 of 2? range interrupts in the game, and doesn’t require a talent point to get.

Goblins make stuff cheap and most likely re invent what is already available with cheap stolen blueprints
Since I’ll be playing a Rogue and be pvp focused in Classic, I won’t have to deal with the frustrations of stun resist racial from Orc since Orcs are my pals and I’ll be the one using WOTF on them pesky locks/spriests/warriors.
This alone is priceless!

Three I think? ES, counterspell and spell lock if a warlock has a felhunter out. CS and spell lock are both 30 second cooldowns with longer lockouts.

Horde have a harder time leveling. And since the eastern kingdom was made first their quests are more refined. I like horde and alliance. Its just pre cata I prefer horde, then after cata I am all about alliance.
