All I’m going to say, is that I fully expect the Nightborne and Thalyssra to play a major part in shaping what the Horde will be in the near future.
Which is an exciting prospect. (My soon-to-be-main Mage is a Nightborne)

I dunno, man. You can replace “Bad” with “Meh,” if you like. I really feel like that describes Vol’jin’s stint as Warchief.
At worst you can call Vol’jins time meh, but it certainly wasn’t bad.
While a part of me thinks this would be an interesting story angle, Blizz would need to work very hard to keep the Nightborne from being to snooty while “uplifting” the Horde that they wouldn’t come off as straight annoying.
Even though I can’t play as the Tauren (Shorties4Lyfe!) as a people they are literally my favorite race in the Horde. I haven’t done the Highmountain stuff yet so I can’t comment on them yet.
We need a new narrative. I will pitch it now.
TINY MINISKIRTS FOR ALL!
We will be the sexy Horde.
That’s why Thalyssra is their leader, she has the fair weathered temperament to communicate on behalf of the Nightborne. It’s a steady contrast to the wider Nightborne population. Occuleth has this character trait too.
But I am looking forward to her (literally) bearing get teeth at some point. Not that she has any reason to. Yet.
I second this!
You know what? I ag…
Aaaaaaand nevermind. The idea of a rotting corpse oogling me in a miniskirt just destroys the mood.
You know what? In general I’m not that big a fan of elves with a few special exceptions, but Occuleth is one of my favorite characters of all time. That dude is an absolute hoot. How can anybody not like Occuleth?
And you messed with me first by introducing pinapple pizza as a world domination tactic. pulls out her Scarlet Crusade Inquisitor Rod, and lights the end of the pointy bit red hot with the Light And now… the fun begins.
The Horde soul is to become a faction of raid bosses which Alliance will grind gear from.
Jokes aside, ever since WoD, I’ve watched the Horde go downhill storywise to the point they’ve lost their edge while the Alliance have consistently been the borish good guys that never seem to do wrong and always have some Christie Golden justification to their actions.
That’s clearly a gnome. You need to get your eyes checked.
Why? What’s wrong with miniskirts or corpses oogling?
ALSO!
Göstav fears Bipzi, showing her all of the most terrible of things like in that one video from youtube… Göstav briefly wonders what YouTube is before he lobs a fully charged chaos bolt at Talestra
Tanks the hammer because he is a warlock, the most tanky of casters, and scoffs at Talestra’s puny damage, which everyone knows had been nerfed into the ground a few patches ago.
Meanwhile, Jim put her mechanospider on autopilot and vanished, opening on Talestra with cheap shot and garrote as Kanora uses meta and starts going ham, like DHs do.
Talestra is officially being ganked.
I’m oogling you right now, bby.
That “Gnome” has it’s bones showing. Still a corpse.
Why? What’s wrong with miniskirts
Nothing, it’s the corpse oogling I have a problem with.
suddenly starts running away, visions of corpses oogling her in her mikiskirt in her head
I’m oogling you right now, bby.
By the Naaru this WOULD be what I would see while being Feared. Ugh.
Talestra is officially being ganked.
laughs in Bubble, becoming Immune to all damage and hops on her mount while in combat intending to just trample over Gostav while she is immune to everything
Talestra is officially being ganked.
While Talestra is Bubbled and has the attention of everybody, also aims at Gostav, sending the barbed shot right at him to get him to bleed to death, and an entire flock of Crows descend on him, murder in their beady eyes*
Gostav is officially being ganked
Fantastic ramble.
I enjoyed reading your post all the way through.
I joined the Horde to be evil. I liked playing evil races and classes in Everquest and hoped to continue that in World of Warcraft.
At first, it worked out; I joined a race who had enslaved a being of pure Light.
I served alongside orcs who had paved the, “Path of Glory,” with the skulls of the draenei they’d slaughtered.
To my dismay, the Horde I was a part of, turned out to be misunderstood noble savages.
When Garrosh came into power, I was overjoyed. Finally a warchief who put the, “war,” in WARcraft!
Garrosh didn’t seem it; but he was actually very cunning and eloquent. (His letter to Grimtotem truly expresses this.)
"Unto Elder Crone Magatha of the Grimtotem, Acting Warchief of the Horde, Garrosh Hellscream, Sends his most sincere wishes for a slow and painful death.
It has come to my attention that you have deprived me of a rightful kill. Cairne Bloodhoof was a hero to the Horde and an honorable member of a usually honorable race. It is with disgust and anger that I discover you have caused me to bring about his death through accidental treachery.
Such tactics may work well for your renegade, honorless tribe and Alliance scum, but I despise them. It was my wish to fight Cairne fairly, and win or lose by my own skill or lack of it. Now I shall never know, and the cry of traitor will dog my steps until such time as I can sport your head on a pike and point to you as the real traitor.
So…no. I will not be sending any truehearted orcs to fight alongside your treacherous, belly-crawling tribe. Your victory or your defeat is in the hands of your Earth Mother now. Either way, I look forward to hearing of your demise.
You are on your own, Magatha, as friendless and disliked as you have ever been. Perhaps more. Enjoy your loneliness."
Once again, the Horde was edging into the realm of evil and I was happy to see us going in that direction…
… and then Blizzard assassinated Garrosh’s character.
Now I find myself a Slyvanas Loyalist in the desperate hope that an avenue of evil will present itself to me.
Fantastic ramble.
I enjoyed reading your post all the way through.
Thank you! We may be opposed for what we want for the Horde, but as players it’s great to see we can both understand the divide this brings. I also like being evil in other games. Things all just sorta depend. Heck if the Light takes an evil turn like they are hinting at, then as a Holy Priestess heeereee we gooo! Heretics all of you!
Being dependent upon the Alliance and it’s endless mercy.
The Horde can’t survive on it’s own or make it’s own path without the Alliance there to hold their hand.
Horde playerbase seems split really.
You have people who want the noble savages, Thralls Horde, the band of sisters and brothers in blood.
And you have a lot of edgy Belf and Undead players who have a “I wanna watch the world burn, lets eat their babies” mentality. Which is just Scourge, give them a Scourge faction.
give them a Scourge faction.
I’m hoping this is what a Loyalist faction will look like, honestly.
There’s more to it than that but those are the only two sides Blizzard shows in the lore. So we have to choose between complete anduinisation or genocidal maniac.
