it’s usually a nicer way of de-escalating the situation without pointing fingers at individuals. i don’t think his post had much to do with trying to cull a nonstop cryfest by all members.
i try to do the same thing when chat was bogged up with too much hate, regardless of who it’s pointed toward. i just do it with awkward jokes instead because i don’t really understand how to not make fun of every single thing that passes through my head.
even right after the wpvp event when most tempers were flared up (but mostly, lots of innocent players getting killed repeatedly when they don’t even know who bsg is) - the conversation would ebb and flow.
i learned my lesson tho. i only joined epic bg communities after returning and being repeatedly stomped as a pug. i left all the discords, and some of the communities. barely a caring soul between the lot of ya.
