I know its called SEASON of discovery but I really hope the servers lasts for at least a traditional vanilla cycle. With end game raids not coming out until summer, I really hope they drip feed us the rest of the raids. Really just want to chill on these servers. Tons of people everywhere in a familiar game with new things added. I want to have plenty of time to really get invested. I don’t want this to be like a season of Diablo but we’ll see.

if its a one and done season that doesnt lead our characters into Classic+ then blizzard will have betrayed their community for the last time imo.
keep disrespecting our investment into your games and see how that goes.

If the end game raids are unchanged 40m, then I’m done before 60.
This is more of an experimental ground for testing features, that could be in classic+.
Though its very high copium to expect classic+.

I hope they add some really challenging 10 or 20 man content at endgame but 40m raids should still probably hold the best gear.
They haven’t clarified what they plan to do once the season has run its course yet, all we know is they don’t want all of our characters to just be thrown in the trash bin once it’s all said and done, so we’ll have to see
Honestly, I could see SoD turning into an opportunity to complete all of the old content that ended up being cut from each expansion

its high copium on blizzards part too to keep asking us to invest the great amount of time it takes into these classic characters and then pulling the rug out from under us as well.
I see a lot of people that want it to turn into its own thing. Blizz would be throwing away a huge opportunity if they just kinda scrapped it after the “season”.

40 man raids would ruin SoDs feel. Theres something about just being able to get a group of 10 people together relatively easily and just pug the raid. I would be down for more than 10, but 40 is just too much of a hassle imho. Obviously we’ll have to wait and see what they plan. I just think the idea that the “best” gear should drop from 40 man raids is not fun at all
No ones gonna wanna play this game in a year or two from now. Will be busy playing another version or another mmo
It really is the best content they can make to cast a wider subscription net. Really enjoying it a ton. Hope it lasts, no rush!

They should probably keep the servers up forever, or else people will lose their toons. Because they aren’t Era toons so there is nowhere logical to dump them at the end besides just keeping the servers going as SoD-Era or whatever it is called.
According to the roadmap… it shows that SoD end game will or should take place late fall/ early winter 2024
I feel this too, really dislike 40m.
…but I do think they need to keep at least one raid 40m, or have it be variable.
You should be worried by what they said in response to “what happens after SoD”.
Specifically the part where they say: “Maybe we have to take some Runes away, but maybe some Runes are so beloved that we can incorporate it into the realm they go to”
In short. We’re probably going to Era or Cata.
I mean you knew going in that was a high possibility yet you chose to play anyway.
Already quit SOD because there’s no point playing on servers with completely out of control cheating and botting.
