Then don’t play. Suffering made the game good. Why remove what made the game good?
Flag him for trolling
People like you cause you dont complain. Even about gold sellers and stuff
I agree, but the game shouldn’t be changed regardless.
Actually gold sellers are a serious problem with the game but at the end of the day blizzard has to fight a substantial part of the community to apparently bring the game we used to love. Makes you wonder how many people actually wanted that game back in the first place.
Also, yeah it would be nice if blizzard fixed the game and in my opinion removing LFG is a good place to start.
So. Yeah they are a problem. You made a statement that you didnt complain about stuff. Then you go on to complain about stuff.
You are a typical toxic player. You pick and chose whats ok according to you. If you agree then its ok.
And then you question if people really wanted to play the game again??? Then follow that with your approval of them changing it. Ehat a joke. Yeah people wanted to play again. They wanted to play the game AS IT WAS THEN" the comment " No. And you dont either. You think you do, but you dont." Was an answer to the players question on " Havr you ever thought about bringing back servers of previous expansions AS THEY WERE THEN"
Turns out they were right, players like you wamt more and more changes. Just go play retail and leave classic alone.
I’ll never understand some players issues with a simple matchmaking service that makes the grouping experience more efficient and enjoyable. All leaving that feature out does is force players who aren’t in a guild to waste tons of time spamming chat. New World tried launching without a LFG or lfd feature and the results were disastrous. I’m not wasting 30-60 minutes just to form a simple 5 man group. I have better things to do with my time.
And what happened to no changes? LFD was in the original game so why change it now?
Exactly dude. If you want convenience and dopamine withdrawals go play retail.
therein lies the rub.
i don’t consider myself to be some super extrovert, but then again I have to remember that there are people out there who are too shy to type messages to other people in WoW ![]()
I prefer LFG for dungeon groups.
It makes leveling easier and faster.
Hunting up a group willing to take you is tedious and makes me not wanna join the reindeer games.
Thank you for speaking up all these retail wow and forum people trying to ruin our classic game . No to RDF classic people stand up and rise
Highly disagree but oh well doesn’t really matter.
It’s just a simple Quality of Life issue. It doesn’t ruin the game. It doesn’t ruin community and it has NOTHING - literally NOTHING - to do with the health of the game.
If this was true why is FF14 blowing everyone out of the water? Especially considering the way you level alts is dungeon spamming.
The big issue with not having a dungeon finder is when players become toxic and leave mid-dungeon because they know leaving a dungeon mid-run is typically a death sentence for that group.
Several times I’ve had people in my groups who decide they’re ‘above’ running back to the dungeon and if there’s a wipe they just type 'brb and lay there and wait for a rez.
Every time I’ve called these players out (trying to do it in a non-dbag way) they leave the party immediately.
Then the dungeon is over because typically no one wants to come for half a dungeon.
Having my time wasted in a game is going to be the top reason I ever quit. Nothing worse than sitting around, spamming in chat, getting 3 players, having 1 drop, and whatever. Dungeon finder is a great fix to this.
I agree LFR should not be a thing however.
The thing is being social is not something that comes to 90% of people naturally. I used to die of stress every time i had to present anything at school but then when i reached around 16 i told myself no more of this crap and now i literally cant shut up around people.
If you shelter people all the time because they think they dont want it well you will end up with a population of people living in their tiny little internet bubbles and honestly at this point socially inept.
no it is not.
“Quality of Life” is a telltale sign you are dealing with someone trying to jam a retail feature into classic WoW.
It sacrifices socialization and MMORPG elements in favor of convenience. That’s the issue with it.
What’s the point of having the game be online if you just click a button to get automatically put into a group with 4 other silent strangers who may as well be NPCs, that you will never see again after the run ends?
What’s the point of having a game world when you can just teleport around everywhere and not have to actually travel?
LFD was terrible in 2009 and it’s terrible now. Cross-realm and insta teleports all over the place turned retail WoW from an MMORPG into a lobby game loot shooter.
Have you been in a coma for the past three years?
Ah, the good ol’ socialization argument. You all must have a secret cult where you talk about what kind of cool replies you can send towards people in support of RDF because you all come foaming at the mouth with the same boring argument…
You’re delusional enough to think that there is socialization in groups right now, which tells me that you don’t even play the game. 5 man dungeons aren’t some kind of sacred fabric of the game that has to be maintained to a social standard. Im kind of thinking about reporting you for trolling to be honest.
This is likely commentary from someone who spends little to no time playing the game in general, who thinks 5 man dungeon groups are the end-game.
The reality is that dungeons don’t have to be a super social experience. You cannot force anyone to actively be social. Some people just aren’t social. The times I have social activity in the game are when I play with friends/guildies and were on discord voice chatting while doing the content.
B.S.
If someone does or doesn’t talk in dungeons isn’t going to make any difference if they press a button to get into the group or if they spammed chat for 30 minutes. And who gives a turkey about talking while playing a dungeon? I’m there to down the enemies and collect my loot and XP. I’m not there to shoot the breeze.
Yeah, it was so terrible that the game was the most successful it’s ever been.
I have no problem traveling to the dungeon and making it one realm only. But your side isn’t even willing to make that compromise because…reasons.
No, your side’s wishy washy stance on no changes is extremely hypocritical. I’ve been wide awake watching the barren wasteland that classic servers have become. Your side is clinging to this fantasy that if you take away QOL things(That WERE in WOTLK) that everyone will be forced to play the game your way. Guess what? It’s not 2004 and people now have social media for shooting the breeze. They don’t play MMORPGs for that anymore.
Not an argument. Seethe.
you do realize that WOTLK did not have LFD until its final content patch, yes?
lmao
Maybe they shouldn’t be playing MMORPGs then. Sounds like retail is a better fit for them.
“your experience is different than mine OBVIOUSLY YOU DON’T EVEN PLAY THE GAME”
why are the retail andys like this
“Queing” is random and doesn’t involve any social interaction. LFG channel is a tool not a replacement for grouping. The difference with the auto-DF was that it replaced asking ppl to join and finding ppl in a way that ppl rarely spoke and thus, “met” no one. I believe social mmorpg players wish to avoid replacing social interaction without crippling grouping. The LFG is not perfect but it does not replace social interaction.
Imho, Aion had a good LFG system. They had a list of LFM groups that players could pm the group leader or click to join (approval pending from group leader). It listed classes etc. already in that group, so you could fill the available groups quickly with the basic information in front of you. You didn’t need to ask if they had this role or that, you could see it.
What is ideal is an organized way to facilitate grouping but not replace the final formation that should rely on human approval not a completely automated feature. So a list with basic info is helpful and facilitates human decisionmaking but auto-que DF is the whole deal and goes too far.
LFG channel - most basic tool is the chatbox and a dedicated channel to grouping but it lacks any info on groups forming
Facilitated LFG Interface - list of groups forming and what classes/specs, roles, etc. they have or wish to have, as well as a space for the party leader to put in any recruit notes
auto-DF - replaces all human control with fully automated grouping feature. You que and see what you get. No input on what want or need and completely blind on who is in your group. Make it work or quit and get a penalty. DF in retail fills by roles and relies on players choosing a role they can perform. Roles were eventually locked to specs.
I prefer the facilitated option. But if it’s auto-DF or just a dedicated channel, I’d prefer the channel without DF siphoning players away from PUGs. Auto-DF is not “player-driven.”
