Hm, excuse me, tickle damage? Have you seen DKs in MDI do over a million dps? That’s plague + epidemic. No other spec in the game reaches those numbers. Virulent plague + fever talent makes this into an absolute powerhouse of our kit, if anything it is the opposite of a tickle damage, it is far too easy to upkeep for the amount of damage it does, hence other things can’t hit that hard or else we’d be uber OP.
This is incorrect. Damage is mainly from bursting sores in those heavy pulls.
I like having more ghouls. I want all the undead. If it were up to me army of the dead would be up all the time.
That being said, I hate festering wounds so very very much. It is like a bass ackwards combo point system. Nothing about it feels good imo.
I enjoy having more ghouls, spreading disease etc but I hate pimple popping. Unholy was my favorite spec but I just can’t get into festering wounds.
I don’t mind how UHDK plays right now.
I would like our active abilities to hit much much harder especially festering strike.
Unholy hit like truck with bote when you can line up all of your CDs. If you’re lucky with proc, you can easily burst around 135-140k single target with full CDs and lust.
BFA unholy isn’t as bad as Legions but I still don’t really like it. I really hated the RNG of it in legion. But overall, MoP was the best time to be a DK. Legion is where DK died.
My only Horde 120 is my DK. I more or less only play him to unlock horde stuff.

I don’t know if you play DKs because back before Apoc was a thing the class was over all a lot more enjoyable and competitive
Apoc isn’t the issue. It’s Festering wounds.
Were it up to me, they’d have made Necrotic Plague baseline, and Apocalypse would apply Necrotic Plague to maximum stacks and do an absolute boatload of Shadow damage. As a result, it would be on a much longer cooldown. Festering Strike would still just do a large amount of physical damage and extend the duration of Necrotic Plague. Scourge Strike would apply a stack of Plague if Plague was running, but would overall do more damage.
If it was up to me I’d be swapping Garg and apoc as talents, removing fester strike and replacing it with another dot and making SS use two rune and do more damage based on how many diseases you had
And when you died you’d turn into a ghoul again
The spec is straight garbage right now, and in need of a redesign.
8 minute cooldowns are awful.
Apocalypse is a mini-ArmyoftheDead on a shorter cooldown.
Pets in general are awful, let alone the DK pet. Of all the menagerie of dead we can only choose a ghoul?
Dark Transformation is a bland cooldown with no mechanic or necessary build-up. It is just another button to push every 30 seconds, granting increased passive damage, a longer stun, and an awkward to use interrupt charge.
Then there is the FS->SS nonsense, which feels plucked straight from vanilla WoW. It is like a combo point system, but feels like it was bought at a discount store, going out of business.
The animations are embarrassingly bad. Just sound effects and a spray of particle effects for every ability.
