I was excited when it seemed like Power Word: Shield was going to be a primary defensive option for [Holy] Priest. Still one of my favorite spells since Vanilla–I believe it was the first spell we learned, if not the second.
And then it immediately got sidelined by health bar changes and then it was changed be automatically cast by Prayer of Mending for Oracle Holy Priest to “avoid encouraging HPriest to cast PW:S.” Still saddens me to this day.
It’s a core Priest spell. All specs should want to cast it.

It is kinda like a useless button tbh.
But it’s k to have it as an optional to use it manually. Comes handy to proc that talent in certain situations.
That other new idea is actually 100% correct
fun fact, most players don’t play pvp, i don’t care if disc is imortal there and summons lazers from theire eyes, I wanna an interrupt, better dispel profile, mobility and not speding most of my points in two pointers on useless talents.

I’m totally new to priest, old player, done all sorts of content throughout my 20 years of playing WoW and it’s insanity to think priest is “ok” vs the other classes. Like so many people have pointed out this class is pretty much good when its overpowered because of pure numbers. Mechanically it’s like one of the most jank classes I’ve ever played.
I decided to level and play Priest this expansion mostly for like theme/rp fun. Felt like playing a disc void weaver would be fun and it was. Oracle is fun in PvP too. Still doesn’t mean it’s that great overall.
More than anything the priest class tree needs a complete rework. Like if you can’t see that I’m sorry just like never post or comment on the forums about class balance again cause your just some kinda masochist that likes suffering.
I really really want to continue playing this Priest, but the fact Paladin got some nice buffs before this patch, then because of their new class tree rework got insane buffs again has me sitting here in Dorn going, I should just start playing my old Paladin.
There is no way Blizzard is sitting there going “Priest is the most balanced class”. I think whoever they have working on this class has no idea what to do tbh. Look how bad the original Oracle design was, like whoever is the priest designer is just lost in a forest or something.

I just want my favorite spec - Holy - to have small-group healing tools that feel snappy and good to use again. Falling back on Flash Heal And A Dream is painfully un-fun. Feels like a 2004 Paladin with a couple extra bells.
