Holy Paladin Talent not working, Lightforged Blessing

I’ve noticed in Pre-patch that the class talent Lightforged Blessing is not healing at all. I just wanted to bring this to the developer’s attention. That is all, thanks for your time.

Confirming this talent isn’t showing any healing for me either. Neither in the healing meter or in the scrolling combat text.

This talent is still not functioning at all even after today’s update.

Yup, can confirm, I know it’s a pretty low priority things all things considered, but it’s better for it to be not taken because it’s too weak as opposed to literally doing nothing.

Numbers wise, it actually looks like it would be a reasonably strong talent if it functioned properly.

Suffers from the same problem as the old Ret aura, if it’s too ‘‘strong’’, then it become indispensable. Back then when bosses had million of HP, ret aura reflect a puny few hundred, barely enough to make it’s presence known. And yet if you make it reflect thousands? It suddenly become a degree of dmg that build up passively over time.

Lightforged blessing suffers from the same concept but from a healing pov. With divine purpose and potentially future talents/tier sets interaction, this has a hidden danger of providing passive healing to the point it encroaches into the territory of healers and they hate that.

It used to be 5% in TWW beta. Imagine that number today.

Maybe Blizz could just add an Internal Cooldown to the effect?

They figure out how much total passive healing they want a Paladin to be able to splash onto their team over 30mins, 10mins, and 2mins… then set a hard occurance cap that makes sense so even if the content keeps you in combat (and generating HoPo the whole time) its still not “too much” for Blizz’s balance goals.

It’s just kicking the can down the road. If the ICD is too long, then the healing will be ‘‘pushed’’ upwards to account for fewer cast and if it’s too short, then it will heal puny amount. Then players will likely feel it’s casted too little or no impact at all.

The main concern here is still the structure of the talent. It’s there passively as a form of utility that does not appear to have a good middle ground ( at least i cannot think of 1 rn). It’s nearly either too good or too bad. Perhaps the entire spell can be change to something like i dunno, Word of Glory heals you and another target based on lowest HP but healing is reduced by 20%. Some variant of sorts.

That’s where we are now.

All the “phoned in” talents in the Paladin Class tree could use a redesign, but at least they are currently on the sides of the tree and don’t usually prevent someone from taking something they want.
