Holinka: WoW info will be worth the hype at Blizzcon

What? You mean it wouldn’t be enjoyable going back to classes with 5 skills and rotations of spamming 1 or 2 abilities, while also constantly running out of mana?

Nonsense!

vanilla, classic, other mmos, even legion weapons offered routes for your character to grow, or at least gave the player the feeling of excitement to log on and progress their character through.

We sort of still get that through leveling, and I enjoyed that type of feeling during our individual weapon quests, but I would love if the game included a path of some sort, a way for our characters to feel as if they were growing.

I don’t have anything to suggest, some random ideas include; a new or different path, along side leveling and questing, but advances your character through some other meaningful way, not just levels and gear.

This would provide immersion, excitement to log on and truly adventure as your character because every choice, direction, or whatever the path system ends up being, could be a cool opportunity for your character to grow, in meaningful, purposeful ways.

not exactly, you had to choose a spec and then could only put points into that spec tree till the end and then you could put points in other trees. it wasnt just like in wrath.

tinkerer
shadow hunter/ dark ranger
necromancer (sylvanas death bolt) maybe just change affliction lock to necromancer……… affliction is a dead theme like demon warlock was combat rogue and survival hunter, at least now they are better.)

Holinka is not someone I trust.

Im pretty hyped. I think we might see some new content related stuuf like 8.3 and 9.0 and i think we might see some new game mechanics revelations be it something on the same line as artifact weapons were or some new forms of gameplay within wow.
Overall as i said pretty hyped.

Because once you understand human psychology you can capitalize on it heavily. A lot of mobile games use things like gacha games, or buying ‘things’ to make timers go faster relying on people’s gambling nerves or their impatience. In a perfect world it would be nice to say “just stop it” but thats not how reality or people work.

Only a month left until crushing disappointment!

I can’t wait.

I mean, of course I hope this is true. Of course I hope that Blizzard is investing in making WoW a big, awesome game again.

Of course. I used to love WoW and want to love it again.

But WoD — BfA has taught me to not count on Blizzard. So I will wait and see. Gonna have to have major in-game goodies to get me to buy a virtual ticket.

oh I know that too. I try out some of the mobile games when I’m relaxing on the couch and if it turns into one of those I uninstall it almost immediately. My OG comment is basically how powerful phones are these days though hehe

I just hate mobile gaming aside from short session tap tap type games. I’m never playing Diablo on a damn phone.

Hey at least it would be honest lol.

Probably respect them more for it.

But how will we find them? How I ask. HOW?

I hope they come out with something mindblowing, fully updated graphics, a return to talent tree systems, old abilities reinstated, pvp vendors, pvp gear and pve gear, better gear transmog over the recolour mass produced options we have had for years, among much much more.

In the end I know they’ll announce WoW mobile and wow console instead. We will also have more timegates and levels will be pruned along with abilities to cater to the two new platforms.

There’s a sweet spot for hype. I like a little of it. But too much and I stop getting more enthusiastic, just more anxious that things I enjoy are about to be bulldozed over or monetized to the moon.

Blizzard has under-delivered for too long for anyone to be hyped.

Especially considering that last Blizzcon was an abject disaster.

Well, he’s hardly going to post "So, I’m not going to give anything away, but god damn Blizzcon is going to be the biggest pile of whale faeces you’ve ever seen flop on a live stage. The WoW team in general have shown all the competence of a troop of particularly challenged chimpanzees with pencils in the mouths, and these days I refuse to admit I work for the company I’m so ashamed.

I think players are going to need very large sacks of rotten vegetables to pelt us with come November.

See you there guys and girls!"

In other words, his post doesn’t say much of use.

We’re in for some treats. Cross faction PvE, and revamped classes/talents! Polly a level squish too…and an entire world revamp. It’s time.

This. So very much this.

Remember the BfA HYPE?
Island Expeditions.
Allied Races
Heart of Azeroth
Warfronts
Communities

How’d that turn out?
Sit your hype down Holinka, there’s WAY too much class design problems on the board currently for Blizzcon is going to be hype.

Necromancer’s would think DK and warlock even more.

You nailed my two on the head though.

Tinker is already in game. We’ve been fighting them in island expeditions technically trying out the class for them.

Dark ranger/shadow hunter. Sylvanis using more void powers leads me to believe she will train true shadow hunters/dark rangers. Void powered fast on the move archers with medium range and a dual wield spep that dances all over the battle field. It kind of forces blizzards hand to fix subtelty then to differentiate a melee shadow hunter from sub rogue.

But a League of Legends Kindred style Archer in WoW with fast now shots and movement heavy would be amazing. Sling a few shadow spells and soak the life force of the dead around you…oh baby that would be nice
