Holinka is leaving Blizzard

Newer

Just meant its doing ok in terms of new mmo’s, eso isn’t new

You have my curiosity, care to elaborate a little further?

Just a guess :joy:

But I could see a major gaming company funding this venture to make ghost crawler/Holinka fans buy a game “they made” without interference from a big company and eventually absorbing the company once they get people on the hook.

Just a dumb thought I had

I liked Holinka. Still hoping someone develops a “WoW killer” to try

I mean, modern companie are litteraly more evil than satan, i wouldnt be surprized if it was the case.

i thought he left during wod.

Just starting to wonder when we’re going to see anything from these ex-Blizzard startups.

Remember Bonfire Studios who formed circa 2016… i think?

Best of luck in his new endeavors…

Really? Every forum thread I’ve ever seen about the guy is how he’s a hack who can’t balance PvP. I don’t think a lot of people around here will miss him.

You say that’s smart but this is like the fifth startup with old Blizzard devs and like… best of luck to Mr. Ghostcrawler but they’ve all been busts before. Anybody remember Mark Kern’s startup? Or Hellgate: London?

Yeah, not surprised.
Greg Street and the people going there and other indie spots probably want to get back into doing things with less reigns on them… and get back to doing passion projects for the gamers.

Who am I going to blame now?!

This is hopeful, maybe we will be getting some more skilled talent.

Do not forget Holinka was responsible for ashran, where we were having a lot of fun horde doing bosses alliance doing the events. Well, we were not supposed to play that way so he nerfed it and broke the BG.

It became an unplayable lag fest after that. That was only the beginning of the ruination of wow pvp at the hands of someone who was clueless.

Why. Is. It. Never. Ion.

I wonder what the last thing he worked on for WoW was.

I think the last time I heard his name being shouted around was WoD?

PvP has been relatively untouched for years.

Good, he’s old guard. I thought he already left.

He had a ‘breakdown’ because of how poorly his content was received. It was said he was transferred to another project where they didn’t want him either.

WoW took him back, and changed his title to try and hide his poor designs on pvp, but it is my opinion he was first on sabbatical and then back to ruining pvp.

He is so thin-skinned that his posts on twitter self-delete after 10 days. He was afraid someone would look up previous posts and point out the hypocrisy.

He was a big part of the new talent trees that had other people come in and fix them.

To be fair, if I were on twitter I probably would, too. Considering how many people have been “cancelled” and literally lost their jobs because some hateful little turd dug up a 10-20 year old bad joke post that no longer represents who they are as a human being anymore, and might not even have been considered bad at the time of the post what with the ever shifting goalposts of social correctness, if I were in any even remotely public position I’d be concerned about what stupid things I might have said in my past, too.

That said, 10 days is a bit silly. Times change, but not that fast, so 10 day autodeletes does indeed point to a severe lack of self confidence, or a high level of arrogance, or both.

didn’t he want to homogenize abilities?

I wasn’t very happy when he came out as an advocate of all race/all classes either…

but best of luck to him - he will def be successful with Ghostcrawler…and i look forward to their game :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

You take that back.

I’ll take trashran over isle of friggen conquest or “run straight to the end and afk at the flag until you either get carried by 6 people actually playing the game and can kill the boss, or you lose”.

Though joining a trashran with more than 1 healer vs 9 would be a welcome addition.

When new muppet management that understands that transmog is THE MAIN PILLAR of this game.

If you look like doodoo, there’s no point going outside to do anything at all.

Fashion is the only endgame that matters. That’s it. We need a lead designer who understands how to be FABULOUS!

Interesting.

For what it’s worth, I feel like the talent trees went untested and were woefully unbalanced, in my opinion lol.

Hence entire reworks, like Paladins.

So, I guess Holinka as usual, lol
