So wow fortnite. A pvp event. I’ll do it for the cosmetics but 200 games to get to max renown for all the customizations? My youngest brother will be hyped, me a non pvper isn’t.

It’s not going to be for everyone or maybe most, and I don’t know if I’ll actually enjoy it; however, I am actually kind of interested in this event. I enjoy PVP and this looks like just maybe some raw, PVP fun. We’ll see. I’m not big on battle royale gametypes, but I was always a fan of last-man-standing type modes in the past.

He is technically not wrong, pvp only existed in world for a good while until battle ground were added during classic.

I am so disappointed by the decision to go this way. I legitimately wonder who thought doing a PvP based event like this was a good idea in a game that is primarily PvE and making it seem like an event for everyone.
I guess this might bring in new people that like Battle Royales maybe?
As someone who avoids PvP like the plague, and the rare times I do it I am only going to queue as a healer I won’t be engaging in this at all.
I guess its less that it is PvP based but something focused on Solo or Duo queue?
I was prepared to be disappointed, or for this event to be nothing super awesome or special but I was not prepared to be actively frustrated and angry in the direction this went.
I hope the people out there that enjoy Battle Royales and WoW really do have fun with this event though.
Thanks for trying something new even though I feel like this misses the mark for me.
Depending on how the transmog is acquired I might dive in just to unlock that if I can do it without engaging other players just until I get that stuff.

So according to the video, there are 40 renown levels, and they expect it to take 4-5 matches per level. So hundreds of matches to get the rewards? For an event that lasts a few weeks? Are they insane?

Just need to look at the amount of dedicated servers to each game mode and the WoW logs numbers for participation in each mode. I for one do both, but it’s likely a PvPer doesn’t want to be forced to PvE and the opposite likely true, as evident by the comment storm here on this forum, a PvEr doesn’t want to be forced to PvP and according to the numbers that reflect the bigger player base is PvE, it’s a bold move by the company to lock this content behind a battle royale.

Dota would have actually been a good idea, simply because DOTA has its roots in warcraft, so it would have been an interesting idea.
In fact that’s exactly what the warfronts were kinda meant to be, where you played the hero, but that went over like a wet fart.

Man look at blizzard adding stupid things to the game instead of fixing the things they broke. I would love to see them do some true class balancing instead of putting the effort into putting fortnite into wow. This is by far the laziest thing I’ve seen blizzard do in years outside of diablo 4.
