Hearthstone shares theme and rewards with WoW too, but it has it’s own patches. If this was some kind of mini game you played inside WoW it would make more sense, but it adds no content to World of Warcraft. When we log into WoW later this afternoon/evening it will be just like 10.2.5 (except for holy priest who got a massive stealth rework with no testing).
How do you expect to get it if you don’t participate? There are way more PvE exclusive things than PvP are there not? What about collectors who are more PvP oriented?
wait, so is this a pvp thing, that outfit looks nice, but if it’s pvp i’m rather disappointed. First off this is retail, I’ve played the same character for 11 years, this isn’t season of discovery! I thought us people at Endgame would have something to do!
Better not be PVP, I’ll try it for that outfit, fine. But, I can’t believe I’m losing an entire day to maintenance for this!
95 percent sure this thing is going to be flooded with more pre mades and comms groups as well.
To all of you claiming “PvPers never get anything” as a reason to justify this, this isn’t WoW PvP, WoW content, or explicitly what any PvPer seems to have wanted.
This is not WoW content. You do not use your in game character at all. This is entirely unrelated to the game, and being branded as a content patch for a game it has nothing to do with.
“It doesn’t use typical WoW characters, you’ll have to level up and acquire new abilities and spells by killing creatures, looting chests and avoid the encroaching storm.”
“Plunderstorm is perfect for pick-up and play! No expansion purchase is required, but a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time is needed to participate in a high-stakes, play-by-the-seat-your-pants match.”
Theses two quotes has me believing this is just a testing ground for another project. You’er not using your own characters. The pick and play sounds like the buzz words a company would use for a new mobile game.
All i know is i will not be stopping my farming of invincible and other mounts with my army of alts for this lame looking event.
Boo pvp.
I wonder if groups will be sync queuing into them like they do in epic BGs.
You can only solo and duo.
We did.
This actually sounds very cool.
No one is forcing you to go be fodder if you don’t want to PVP just don’t play it your obsession with collecting everything isn’t something Blizzard needs to cater to.
It’s doing the Blitz thing so you can only solo queue or duo.
It can be explained by the simple fact that they aren’t reading the article and have just reflexively leapt to the defense.
It’s solo and DUO you play SOLO if you dont want that
we waited for months to find out, and it’s stuff no one asked for or wanted. I’m glad I love leveling new toons I won’t waste my time on this crap.
If I wanted to play Fortnite, I would go play that game. How could you possibly think this is what WoW players want? I am not trying to speak for anyone else, but I know no one that thinks this is a good idea.
Horrible…horrible…horrible idea.
Wait this is just a freaking battle royale! That sucks… This better be easy and without pvp!
Probably not sigh this is gonna suck…
Big Oof…
instead of making something for everyone, you again, make something for 1 small fraction of the playerbase and will wonder why it gets a bad reception.
Please, go back to making World of Warcraft an MMORPG.
People have been asking for new battleground stuff for ages.
I look forward to hate grinding this for FOMO rewards when I would rather be playing Dragons Dogma 2.
Event is fine FOMO rewards are not.
