I cannot get boosting out of my face because my ignore list is limited to a max size. Either make it illegal to boost or let me increase my ignore limit. Boosting is utterly degenerate and has nothing to do with classic at all, rest of us should not have to be exposed

I just wanted to say that there’s an addon that some use “Global ignore List and Spam Filter”.
If you don’t have that you should look into it.

My personal fav is when I’m cleansing bots and someone outside if strathholm entrance is begging for a boost and everyone there is like; “nah you’re what is wrong”
addons like GlobalIgnoreList solve you problem.
I think if you right-click and report for advertisement it ignores their chat but it doesn’t seem to put them on your ignore list.
I was checking poking at this last night. There’s some questing addon that emotes an advertisement every time someone levels, so I report it as advertising. I do not care that you’ve achieved level 2 by following an addon that gives you a guide. It’s not that hard, people.
Anyway, I couldn’t see people’s chat after reporting them anymore but they weren’t on my ignore list. Check it out 
ignore list should be incresed A LOT, esp since they won’t moderate chat channels

The addon is your best bet, but I wanted to say, ignore list should probably just be expanded with today’s tech anyway.

Download “BadBoy” chat filter addon
Download “BadBoy_CCleaner” plugin extension
type /badboy to access options
Add a variety of keywords to the chat filter list

Last time I checked my spam filter had hit 40k, these smart boosters are starting to change the key words to get around my settings.

Should be so easy for blizz to place an AI blocking the creation of advertising groups… at most 1 day of work for 1 developer… the premade groups finder is a pain in the …
interestingly, one of the attempts to cure HIV was modeled after yahoo’s spam protection.
When a keyword was blocked, spam circumvented it. Similarly to how a retrovirus dodges the T-cells.
long story short, spammers are AIDS and it’s not simple to get rid of them. Also, I might be related to the prince of nigeria.

Something to understand about any global chat channel in games is that you get a few different types of users, intended use, casual talk, people who want a large amount of people to pot stir, and spammers. Spammers will always find a way around ways you block them, so you just need addons like the key word blockers that you can manually update as they get past your filters.

Report by report player> inappropriate coms> advertising> boosting. t his hides their chat for the time you are logged in and if you see them again you can just report again and its a repeat offense. good luck
