On my monk I use Xuen on single target to swich it up; raid bots says it’s a 250ish dps loss for me. At 60,000-70,000 dps, that’s not a loss I’m going to lose sleep over and will just use what I find fun. Glad Xuen is becoming baseline and would love hit combo to be, too.

Aye. Hit combo and wdp both feel mandatory (both from power standpoint and feel of the spec). Both would be baseline had I a vote.
My problem with Hit Combo is that the mastery is already designed to have us use our abilities in sequence. Why do we need a talent adding damage when keeping up the mastery? Why can’t we get something interesting instead. Also, compulsory talents feel bad.
It definitely feels like it should be, at least wdp if nothing else. Or or get rid of it and give strike of the windlord back.
I agree, i would love to see Hit Combo removed. Our mastery already encourages us not to repeat. The dude running Peak of Serenity suggested making our current azerite trait Fury of Xuen a talent to replace that and I love that idea.
I also think WDP should be baseline.
I would remove it and give us a second rising sun kick in it’s place like the azerite trait or legendary. That’s a direct buff to single target and looks cool when we do the double backflip. That to me seems easier to scale and less punishing when we aren’t tracking “misses” which drops our hit combo.
