I assume a height slider might mess up the armor of the game but it would be a neat feature
I agree that it would be neat and I would like my gnomes to be smaller!
My tiny Tauren death knight would be delightful.
I miss Star Wars Galaxies for a lot of reasons…
The height and weight sliders were so cool.
And they had a whole Dance/Music Specialization that acted as heals/buffs. Mean while Azeroth hasn’t even had a proper studio.
Rik Reverb’s dumpster party is the closest we have gotten since the announcement of the dance studio.
“Hight” should be a measurement of how stoned one is.
PS : Sliders would be cool.
ESO and others have this function, they can do it, would take time though. coding eekk
They already have size adjustments in game via potions, food, and items.
They just need to make it an option in character creation or the barbershop.
It’s 8 in the morning and I am…
/looks at fingers to count them… but it’s kind of blurry
/holds up random amount of fingers
… this many Hight
Or the go to response of the stoned when asked how they are.
too early for me!
TBH anytime is too early… I dont do well with assumed product.
If nayers-do-well are any shorter how em I ta make em walk tha plank with any haste, eh?
A height slider that only really impacts like 20% of a character models height wouldn’t really impact mogs significantly to be a problem. Earthen are about 20% taller than regular dwarves and it improved how armour looks on them as a result.
The elixir of giant growth has a visible progression when you drink it.
Applying each progressive height to a frozen stature on a height bar is the trick there.
This might not be possible in the spaghetti that is the code but it’s an option worth exploring to see if they can get the growth progression onto a slider bar.
So you could set yourself to either max growth height, or anywhere in between.
In order to keep growth options from becoming too extreme, if you select max growth on the slide I would probably recommend the potion just not increase it further (cause that would be a bit ridiculous and troll capable)
But it’s a fun idea to spin ideas about all the same
This annoys me to see a lot as a programmer. This game does not have spaghetti code. Spaghetti code is a term for long, useless, (and often poorly formatted or too many lines or nests) and difficult to read for other programmers who have to work on the project. It is not “Bad Code”.
The primary reason they don’t implement a height slider is because of the proportions of the models. You could easily avoid the issue with collision if the height was purely aesthetic (ie every Night Elf shares the same collision vectors even if they’re taller than another Night Elf.)
So height sliders are purely cosmetic and because the models are designed all to be one height, if there were height sliders there would be only one way: complete XYZ scaling rather than just Y scaling. If it were only Y scaling then shorter characters would look too broad and tall characters would look too slim.
Tl;dr: Height sliders are cool but they can only be practically done one way and it’s not ideal here.
theres already items that scale your current character and armor doesnt break. hell, one of the warrior hero talents PERMANENTLY! increases your size by roughly 15%
As long as we can have a tiny Tauren and a giant Gnome.
Visit the DMF for a Simon Says dance studio.
For every race?
I don’t think Master Hight is relevant enough to have a slider specific to him?
I wrote it a bit sleepy, all fixed up
