I mean, not necessarily. Like I have mentioned before, hierarchies exist in all walks of life, they just tend to not be based upon the conditions of our birth as much as they were in the past.
Power is a corrupting force, but there were reasonably benevolent monarchs in human history. I don’t think saying a feudal society flourishing under a capable ruler isn’t so hard to believe, especially in a fantasy world where there are far less believable things happening on a daily basis. I don’t so much see it as Blizzard making a case in favor of imperial of monarchal rule either.
