High Elf POSITIVITY Thread šŸ˜Ž

Donā€™t you totally remember all those High Elves that fought tooth and nail alongside with the Draenei to purify the Sunwell?

He stated, and has since doubled-down, that while Quelā€™thalas was reeling from the invasion of Quelā€™thalasā€¦ Dalaran was just continuing on, living their best lives. Thereā€™s nothing ā€œrightā€ about this, and is in fact completely incorrect.

The fact that you like posts which are objectively incorrect, and defend those posts which are objectively incorrect, indicates that you donā€™t have any real interest in intellectual honesty. :man_shrugging:

That is an assertion you dreamed into existence, not one that I ever posited.

What Iā€™d said, specifically, was that the BEā€™s and HEā€™s had completely different obstacles from one anotherā€¦ but that the period in which they both experienced difficulties was identical (i.e. both lost access to the Sunwell). This is simply a fact. :man_shrugging:

Thatā€™s completely in-line with every assertion made since, the fact that you donā€™t have a mind for nuance and are easily distracted/confused is a you issue. :man_shrugging:

Is there a reason weā€™re getting engaged in fantasy identity politics atm?

I may have brought them in, but since you responded to me talking smack about the Dalaran high elves to start this off, what yesterday now, Iā€™d say youā€™ve posited it. Unless you forgot what was being talked about.

I mean fine if you want to conflate two separate ideas as one, thatā€™s your option. Makes you look dishonest when you argue against someone commenting on one by bringing up the other though.

Youā€™d be wrong. I havenā€™t once opined about which group had it worse, and in one of my posts I specifically said I wouldnā€™t weigh in on that question.

Instead, Iā€™ve exclusively responded to your specific assertion that while Quelā€™thalas was at their lowest point the HEā€™s were just living it up in Dalaran ā€“ which is, objectively, incorrect.

Itā€™s a singular notion.

Itā€™s my opinion that the Blood Elvesā€™ decisions are, in almost all cases, influenced by how likely that decision is to impact their ability to live lavishly ā€“ the most glaring example of this, to be sure, being their willingness to abandon centuries of social and political interfacing because the Horde (at that time) offered them magic (i.e. leisure).

Youā€™re the minority here and in the wrong and has been proven to be wrong multiple times. Majority Wins when it comes to History/Lore and facts.

so firstly, so we have our terms defined, what kinds of social and political interfacing did they abandon exactly?

damn would love a citation for this. its pretty much established in ā€˜lorthemar theron: in the shadow of the sunā€™ that the sunreavers(the community that jaina credits with teaching humans magic and being productive citizens for thousands of years) are the ones that returned to help rebuild. they returned to pick up where their lives left off when dalaran was destroyed. isnt that why they control the only place that has any blood(high) elven architecture? isnt that why they have a member on the council of six? isnt that why aethas gets ticked off when jaina tells him to leave and he rebuffs her with ā€˜this is OUR city tooā€™?

read the shorty story. theres even a passage where aethas hopes lorthemar can speak to vereesa as shes opposed to him and the sunreavers. no mention of the SC, apparently vereesa represents no one and simply has rhonins ear at this time

ā€œVereesa Windrunner is married to the new leader of the Kirin Tor. She is not fond of me, or those I represent. I had hopedā€¦ because you were a rangerā€¦ā€ Aethas shrugged. ā€œI thought maybe you could help us bridge that gap. I suppose not.ā€

Lorā€™themar scowled at the mention of Vereesaā€™s name. ā€œYou suppose correctly,ā€ he said.

it really is sad how you guys try to gaslight people. and for what? theres like maybe 10 people who read this thread

Wait, when did the Horde ā€˜giveā€™ the blood elves magic?

Is that a thing we can do?

Guys, have I been missing a core gameplay mechanic?

Were the Alliance players weeping about op Horde right? Because we can just give people magic?

you still tried to separate the elves that returned to dalaran after it was rebuilt from the blood elves to high elves that came from i guess stormwind in your mind

here take a look at the district the suneavers control. its architecture reflects the people that live there. compare it to the alliance side which the only thing remotely blood(high) elven is the alleria memorial

shouldnt it be the other way around if your interpretation is correct

Stop that.

  1. Your opinions arenā€™t proof of anything.
  2. How popular something is/isnā€™t has no bearing on objective truths ā€“ and the fact that you think it does is hilarious. :man_shrugging:

They had access to a network of kingdoms, who couldā€™ve surely assisted them throughout this period in a myriad of ways, but instead they chose to defer to the whims of their prince ā€“ who promised to personally deliver a solution to their magic dilemma.

(I suspect we could go back and forth all night on precisely what would motivate a leader, Kaelā€™thas in this case, to so haphazardously gamble with the health and wellness of his peopleā€¦ but Iā€™d like to see where youā€™re going with this line of discussion.)

There are definitely two major ironies to be found in the broader population throwing their support behind a prince with lofty ideas:

  1. The ā€œsolutionā€ proffered by Kaelā€™thas, while technically suitable, ultimately inundated all Blood Elves with some small amount of Fel ā€“ and semi-permanently altered their appearance (in like all cases, this presented as Fel-suffused eyes).

  2. The actual solution, which came in the form of a completely re-empowered Sunwell, ended up ironically coming as a gift from one of the aforementioned network of kingdoms.

Not opinions when itā€™s facts.

If the objective truth is popular like say the earth is round, when a flat earther chimes in, their incorrect opinion does not matter.

Now if we apply it in WoW terms, everyone here against you knows the objective truth where as you have the incorrect opinion.

Speaking of incorrect opinions akin to flat-earther speak:

The ones that in general they isolated themselves from, leaving them and only coming back when cajoled to honor past debts? Also, the same kingdoms that fairly or not, the elves may have seen as trying to kill them off the last time they were in trouble?

Also, the same network which was sending in spies and such, and possibly tampering with their defenses?

I mean, thereā€™s no denying they helped out, but the group that dealt with the whole sunwell area was a combined force of Draenei and Blood Elves teaming up to remove Kaelā€™s nonsense from the land. Velen was a big part, but he didnā€™t do it all on his own.

I thought it was the Shattrath draenei that were in the Shattered Sun, not the Alliance ones.
