Agreed. Itās kinda unfortunate that sometimes they have to make a mistake first, and then only after blowback, keep their ear to the ground and find out what went wrong, but whatever.
It seems like they are listening on a few fronts.

I see it that way as well. I try not to buy into horde bias, but seeing what the alliance asked to play versus what they received for ARs compared to what the horde asked for and received makes it pretty hard to think they care that much about the alliance.
One thing that may have been lost in the heated argument over playable classes (and a while ago, Sylvanas), is that we all agree on playable High Elves on the Alliance.
This thread and the High Elf Love thread (and the numerous megathreads beforehand), are meant to be positive. A good and ferocious debate is fine.
Weāre all passionate about a particular subtopic in a game that we play. A lot.
In the end, meant to be for advancing making them playable at all, and ideally in a way that makes as many people happy and as few people angry (as well as minimizing said anger that does arise in each individual).
I say this because I also see threads that are what I would classify as ābaitā threads or are outright anti-HE. Theyāre opinion is fine, but what I see in a lot of those threads is a lot of trolling rather than good debate.
While there may have been a disagreement on a few niche issues, both of us debated in good faith and did not troll.
Which is good. =)
confirmed that blood elves and void elves are getting blue eyesā¦
Void elves are also getting all blood elf skin color options
Itās gona be weird seeing blood elves with purple hair on allianceā¦ >.>
They did none Voided Void Elves.
We got a lot of work to do. Wow.
Would like to see some lore added for the normal skins, maybe a quest line of some sort? Hereās to hoping anyways, but a victory I think all the same.
The good guys finally won
Yeah basically you can be a lightskinned or darkskinned non-voided void elf with tentacle hair, itās gona look so awkward imo.
Anywho to each their own I guess.
Just shows how out of touch Blizzard is with both antis and pros.
Huh, looks like they at least gave Blood Elves the Pai Mei hairstyle Talen likes.
The Antis lost the āBlood Elf identityā and we got Literal Blood Elves with different Hair.
Everyone loses lol
So they decided to try and cheese it again and give you helfers a ācompromiseā Now void elves are literally just Blood Elves on the alliance it seems like to me.
Some people would have rather seen every HE removed and or given golden eyes, as opposed to receiving Blue Eyes on Horde with Alliance getting a diverse skin pallet.
I guess I was wrong assuming Holy is the dominant power in the Sunwell, though Iād like it elaborated on too.
But I was in turn right about the fact for VE fans the fact they describe Alleria as a VE and not an oddity would add validity to VEs getting the diverse skin tones also.
Which one is that?
Iām a bit hopeful itāll lead to BEs getting undead options, a new palette for them as well. But thatās my logic anyways.
On the women, the one with the high ponytail.
I mean, I get some people really get caught up with having a race title. But I kinda feel itās better to go with keeping the number of races to balance lower and give people the cosmetic options to make their character look how they want to. But Iām pretty DIY when it comes to more RP based elements like that.
Pretty muchā¦they literally just ported blood elves onto alliance minus the green and gold eyes. I guess the only thing thatāll set them apart now is hairstyles.
Yeah I guess this is reasonable at least
Oh I see thatās nice, Iām a bit fond of the two new short styles I saw one with a crown, the other just a cool shirt hair style. Male options though.
I just always noticed he had that hair in his high elf mock up, and he did confirm it was based on that character. So thought of that when I saw that hair.
Yep. Void Elves are just blood elves now. Because no matter what way you look at it, nothing is going to change the playable class options. If you want to roleplay as a High Elf you can play as a priest, a warrior or a hunter maybe a mage. None of the classes that make them distinct.
Well Iāll be d***edā¦ I didnāt think it would actually happenā¦ and certainly not straight copies of BE skin tones.
Iām not sure what to think. I meanā¦ I am happy about the new forthcoming customizationā¦ but Iām also sad that this really makes Alliance High Elves as their own allied race much less likely barring a completely new model for them (which is more work than I think Blizzard is willing to do).
But yay for purple eyes being an option! And yay for those who will be satisfied being able to simply RP a High Elf using these customization options! Also yay for Blood Elf players who really wanted blue eyes too and werenāt just making posts about it to tick off pro-helfers.
Overall I think this announcement is a net positiveā¦ though it does bring into question how much we can trust anything the devs say in interviews. We went from āblue eyes are for NPCās onlyā to āblue eyes for Blood Elves and Void Elves and hereās some flesh tone skin options for Void Elves to boot!ā
Now we just need Blizz to announce some Nightborne customization options that were squeezed in for Shadowlands launch by popular demand so they look closer to their NPC counterparts!
I am hoping we have more options about the racial at least too, and hair colors.
