So your plan is, instead, to convince people that they don’t want what they want?
Ok. Here is the issue.
I got a few Void Elves. I’m more than happy with them. I’m not going to ask for more Void Elf stuff.
I don’t dislike Void Elves. I just don’t want to play them.
I do like High Elves. So I’m gonna ask for more High Elf stuff.
Even if you could convince me to change course, which is unlikely, there are others like me on the forums. Even if you could convince them to change course… There are others like them on WoW and Twitter.
Read above.
The thing is. You can’t stop that. You don’t have control over that.
So you could argue with us on the internet a bunch. There’s a certain group of people who have done that for three years. What did it get them?
Nothing.
Yeah. Like I said.
Your best bet is to argue to add a High Elf Allied Race. Because then the Void Elves stop being the vehicle that High Elves are delivered to the Alliance.
This is unlikely to succeed at this point, because they’ve already got customization options and it’s tough to take stuff away from people. Do you just remove all the natural skin and hair colors?
The other good option would be a subrace toggle. But then that runs into the same questions about customization. Can High Elves use purple skin colors?
If there is a race toggle between High Elves and Void Elves does it limit customization options?
If your Blizzard your best bet is to add customizations to cater to both groups simultaneously. Which is a tough proposition for them. But it’s also maybe a failing one. People flipped out over Blood Elf jewelry.
Another issue is that trolls who say things like, “There are no High Elves just void elves.” remarks basically backfire where it just makes people who want to play High Elves request more features.
But arguing against people who want High Elf features is a losing proposition. You’ll just get upset, there will be more vitriol on the forums, but at the end of the day people are going to ask for what they actually want when it comes to customization options.
