Check other thread because we are talking about compromising a void elf paladin with void powers instead, and if people want to keep their light, they’d need to use minor glyph. So all animation for void paladin would be all dark void wings and consecration etc.
And god forbid you want unique options and strong story/identity for races, and you get people coming out of the woodwork to label you abusive for having a different opinion.
Uh huh. Literally the next line:
I see you continue to contradict yourself as soon as a mild breeze blows in.
And save your hoop jumping to explain how you achktually didn’t contradict yourself, it stopped being amusing to watch 3 years ago.
But yeah, all in all, you don’t have issues with Void Elves, you just want them torn apart and rebuild in the image of the pretty bland elf you want.
Oh sweetheart, only ones throwing a tantrums are the ones still around after a fat L and still crying about it and trying to stop it.
Insanity or delusion? You tell me, or don’t, doesn’t matter, please stick around, we can’t get more options without your blatantly lore biased ramblings pushing the thread to the top.
Give them a break man, you know they can’t make arguments without their beloved appeals to emotion.
It’s not a contradiction to have some characters and not like playing them. Alts are a thing. People try races and shelve the characters all the time. I’ve got three or so Mechagnomes I haven’t touched in a year.
The problem here is that, despite popularity, the High Elves are bringing nothing new to the table.
They are mages? Good, mages that will be below the Humans.
Paladins? Good, Humans have them beat as well.
At least Void Elves introduced superiority in certain areas, such as Void, which includes Subtlety Rogues and Shadow Priest and Warlocks, which were only mostly Human centered as not many people play Dwarves and Gnomes… Let’s face it, are barely used.
And if I were a dev, even I would be more focused on the Horde and make it more fun with the state things are in the Alliance.
I still laugh when Teldrassil was burned and we were like “Omg the Tree was burned, let’s go look for more humans to fight the Horde.”
I know we just had a discussion about anecdotal data, but imagine if you will if people perhaps think you’re abusive because you’re abusive?
I’m fine with Void Elves. Spookdorei are cool.
I’m fine with forsaken too. Doesn’t mean I want to play one.
But to repeat myself again…
I want playable High Elves. That’s what I’m after. There are a plurality like me.
Blizzard threw customizations onto races, rather than building more Allied Races. Makes sense. saves them a little bit of work.
But then you run into this situation.
I’ll keep asking for High Elf stuff. People like me will keep asking for High Elf stuff.
I’m not out to destroy Void Elves. But I want more High Elf stuff.
If Void Elves get destroyed because people keep asking for what they actually want. That sucks.
But it’s not my job to ask for stuff I don’t want to play.
I’d personally prefer Void Elves continued to exist. They’re kind of like a Blood Mage for the Alliance side.
But people got to play em’.
I think there’s also a fallacy in this idea of mutual exclusivity of the two things.
They’ve got a tentacle toggle. They can make hairstyles that work on both characters.
Both types of characters would have scars and tattoos. Etc.
Seems like they like adding jewelry. The Void Elf jewelry is dope. High Elves probably wear jewelry.
As far as the story goes I don’t think that the playable race has anything to do with it. High Elves haven’t been playable until now but they still managed to be present ever since vanilla.
Oh so now you’re explaining his contradictions for him?
If he doesn’t like them, why say that he doesn’t have a problem with them
And more importantly… why play them in the first place if he doesn’t like them?
I don’t play humans and then ask for them to be made edgier and to look like Forsaken.
They were a great concept that was poorly developed.
And that alone made them a great target for the whole “Well, if they’re not well developed, then develop them to be the bland elves instead!”.
I agree with you, Alliance desperately needs a race that stands out from the bunch (but then again Blizz needs to stop their dumb human focus in general).
But sadly, the people that want the morally pure Alliance intact (and it’s funny because high elves are anything but that, helfers just love to put them on a pedestal), will continue to clamor for this to remain as the status quo.
Do you really want to go there collar creep?
We’re at a point in the game where you can’t bring something new anymore, because its already been covered.
Worgen more or less had ALL of that covered and plenty more.
Even with Void Elves, the Alliance hasn’t really changed much. It could’ve. I’d even argue it should’ve. We should’ve seen Void Elves rewiring the brains of Horde captives to turn them into sleeper agents that would attempt to assassinate Horde leaders on sight, but act completely normal at all other times, or to drop off key Horde intelligence without ever being aware of it.
Instead all we got was, “We’re like mages, we open portals, but we call our portals, ‘Void Rifts,’ and they’re also purple.”
Just pointing out the obvious since you seemed to have missed it.
Because you can not like playing a race and not have a problem with it? Like I said, I’ve got three Mechagnomes I haven’t touched in a year. I don’t hate Mechagnomes either. I don’t have a problem with them. I just don’t enjoy playing them as much as I hoped.
You’re so creepy.
And you’re pushing for VEs to be erased.
Boy, I had forgotten how easily you’ve always proved me right.
I have news for you. You saying you’re not out to do something, while asking for things that will achieve that something, renders your initial claim moot.
No, you’re just jumping to cover up for him because that’s what you guys do.
And I have a nightborne I made only for the achievement.
And again, I won’t kick and scream about how they should be made into a carbon copy of Night Elves even if at this point that should be fair because I don’t even want them in the Horde.
Pot, meet kettle.
I feel like they literally are now ignoring you at this point
To be fair we can totally get more options without their ramblings.
But it doesn’t hurt.
Yep, as someone with 4 younger brothers I had to babysit, I’m getting war flashbacks.
Well, I mean if he would come into one of these conversations as something other than just loudly aggressive people might engage with him more
That sucks. At least hope they are grown up enough now.
Yeah, enough to understand things shouldn’t cater to me and know enough not to ask for stupid things without a care for consequences.
