The problem is that IF it was a compromise, they failed miserably beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Because if so, they misunderstood what was being asked, and instead of giving the alliance the group of elves they wanted - however modified - they made a totally unrelated group of Blood Elves.

If it’s is a compromise, it’s simply absurd to think HE people would be satisfied even a little. Sure blue high elves would have been controversial within the HE people, but it would have been a completely different issue

Void elves might not be a compromise for you, as you were more interested in getting High elves from a lore-perspective, and to fulfill certain story thematic fantasies, but for players who simply wanted to play a pretty elf character like Blood elves on the alliance, void elves were very much the compromise.

Much like Blood elves were used to scratch a certain itch Horde players had as a result of the races that were available to them.

I don’t think their idea was meant to satisfy the HE players who were looking for High elves to fulfill a story fantasy, and to not simply play a pretty elf race on the alliance, as it was something Ion seem to suggest he didn’t agree with fully when the question was posed to him in the Q&A. That he didn’t think that High elves were a group that were truly defined in WoW until Alleria arrived.

I think many players were indeed satisfied by Void elves, which explains why they’re the most popular allied race in the game, but those who were looking for fulfillment regarding the story were left feeling unsatisfied.

I think it was a matter of laziness, they did not want to put in the effort to try and differentiate our Alliance High Elves from Blood Elves, if they really cared to differentiate them at all.

So they just spray painted a group of Blood Elves purple and called it a day.

Just goes to show they care more about not giving Hordies a stomach ache rather than give the Alliance something they’ve actually wanted.

But its more than laziness. You have an opportunity to make huge hype and sales out of this. Putting in the bare minimum of effort to even research what people wanted would’ve paid off.

I mean they spent months making a brand new model and rig for Kul Tirans, a race 1% of Alliance even play. What a massive massive waste of time and money.

It’s like Blizzard are actively trying to destroy the Alliance population by giving them garbage. Like you could’ve given the Alliance almost anything but Kul Tiran, you could’ve made Lightforged a cosmetic option and not changed their lore or story in any way. Where’s Krokuul? Where’s Valarjar? Where’s Wildhammer? Whether you think they are stupid or not, it would’ve built hype because I know people Alliance side are excited for them.

It’s like they hate money all of a sudden.

Acti-Blizzard has been doing nothing but making there game completely garbage. Not just with races and allied races, but everything. And all the hype that was there for Battle for Azeroth, turned out to be a huge disappointment.

what high elves were they going to use? the SC are mostly ranger types with a few mages.

FALSE: The Silver Covenant is compromised of mostly both Rangers and Mages, as you can evidently see playing the game. Most of the SC representation in WoTLK Dalaran is Mages, as well on the Argent Tournament and as part of the 7th Legion; they are more mages in WotLK than rangers.

Later appearances in MoP show the SC having assassins and warriors, showing they have a varied rooster.

were they going to use the 2 in sw? no, they used blood elves(which are high elves) because alliance high elves are too few and the SC make no sense

More BS: Alliance High Elves have already been shown to be more numerous than Void Elves, to the point there are 3 distinct groups of Alliance High Elves while Void Elves come from a single research party.

and as you continue to prove by asking for void elves to be de voided, IT IS all about skin tones not lore

Misconstruction of Statements: I have also said that I wouldn’t mind the options already available if VE’s had been made of High Elves. People can have opinions based on lore OR aesthetics, and I have been clear that a regular skin tone for Void Elves would be the worst-best case scenario.

Its even more laughable that theres a cryptic tweet about a random NPC and you read into it like theres no tomorrow, drinking it up like you just escaped the desert, making all sorts of assumptions but anything that questions it is a tall tale, but clearly unsaid messages about void elves that players make up are the end of the line and just a simple fact.

That a character that completely undermines your agenda was not only acknowledged and confirmed by a lead narrative designer but also alludes to his story possibly being shown in-game at some point in the future.

High Elf NPCs that keep popping up after 15 years when theyre all but dead apparently? I mean since we get to hear about repair dude we all have questions that could use some answers.
