Besides being one of the few races with a massive foothold in the games lore.
Theyāre also highly popular and one of the few āTrueā races of Azeroth, along side Tauren.

But that ignores some of the points. Magāhar and HMT were cosmetic requests. I donāt care about the polish, I didnāt want a duplicate of Tauren with antlers, I wanted antlers for my Tauren. I canāt play this character (my main, not that Iāve been playing too much lately) as a HMT so this fails. I wanted to go to a barbershop and change my horns to antlers. So to me thatās not a requested AR.
And if youāre going to insist that those count as requested ARs, the void elves are an attempt at a high elf model without being too exact a copy of blood elves and itās the most popular AR by far. So that at least turns it to 3-2 as opposed to 5-1

Yes, but Elyssaria I donāt believe theyāll ever say that. Even if the CEO and Board at Activision ordered Blizzard to never add them, there would not be any upside to making that definitive a statement. It would kill hope for some subscribers who might leave and for others, the genuinely committed, I can already see āthings change, people move into new positions all the time - so it could still happen.ā being posted within hours of that announcement.
I donāt think theyāll ever take away hope.
you are right on your entire list except this one. i did a study on polls ran over the time as each race was introduced as possibly a new AR. mechagnomes went straight up to the top 5 out of 10 options as alliance AR options. alot of people also didnt want them but that same thing has been true about high elves as an alliance AR. most popular and most unpopular.

Was this about what people believe would be the Mecha-gnomes, like the ones weāve seen in Ulduar?
Cause in that case i can believe it, I even wanted those.

that, i dont know. i didnt check the date against the reveal.
I would even submit that people half-way hoped that they would allow Mecha-gnomes to have full mech customization, instead of amputee and diaper parts.
I would of even been ok with that, so now itās either amputee gnomes or wearing their Heritage armor forever.
Not that iāll work for them, by far the most disappointing AR in my opinion.

if rolling any non-robe class, iād go for kilts. in leather, mail or plate, to mog the legs, cause that diaper is not very palatable.
Agreed, but at that point, youāre just a gnome with better racials.

the arms still show though and you get groovy new hairstyles/facial hair/and headgear
also their heritage armor makes them look fully mechanized.

Oh, only did it for the Heritage Armor. Void Elves does have a really cool Heritage Armor 
vuplera and mechagnomes both look so fetch in their heritage armor! glad we agree hyper
Iāll admit Iām kinda annoyed that the alliance ARs Iād like to get require dungeon runs to get. Not a fan of randoms, and the mechagnomes and KT seem pretty cool to me. Just gotta wait for 9.0 I guess

Those few Alliance High Elves would not qualify as part of a massive alliance foothold. The Blood elves would be the winner there.
