That they can, though again, what if they want to add a feature that allows players to mix playable races to make one half/half race? Think making a mixed race could get in the way of that. Right? Or am I wrong?

speaking for myself, i do not want to see any more elves, even half elves.
but, i would find half elves to be an acceptable compromise, as they would actually bring something new to not just the alliance, but the game

Bilzzard would really like this kind of view point, because that would benefited them most when they forcing hand/arms cutted gnome to the Alliance while giving another most welcomed/required by both sides/totally new to the game race, vulpera, to the Horde.

As you can see, HE is not about something new, it is about a fair game design, even if there’re really something new and awesome thing would happened next, what makes you think they would be Alliance? :rofl:

You guys fully got my point right? and they’re predicting a ‘final blow condition’ would happen on CN server’s faction imbalance after these two races(V/M) been implemented (according to Wowhead’s Data mining, earliest in 8.2.5).

What’s something “new” the Half Elves bring, that High Elves do not?

High Elves practically have already intermingled with Humans anyway and live fairly human lifestyles. Well depends where you are anyway - HighVale Elves could have Wildhammer and Draenei influences for example.

High Elves bringing nothing is debatable.

I personally would love to see a reunification of High Elves. That way there’s a more different aesthetics and stories that can be added. Like:

  • Dalaranian High Elves bring the Magi Elf to the Alliance, something in which it lacks.

  • Stormwind High Elves could bring the Half Elf aesthetic (Dalaranian High Elves could do this too). As well as Light centric Elves opening paladins.

  • HighVale High Elves could bring the more naturistic aesthetic. Elves in tune with nature, your average ranger, the first Elven Shamans (which even further differentiates them from Blood Elves).

  • Allerian Stronghold Elves could bring a more barbaric High Elf. Living around strange dangerous creatures and demons therefore resulting in more violent ways of combat and appearance.

  • Silver Covenant Elves bring a more militaristic elf. Elves trained in multiple different talents.

The reason i oppose Half Elves directly as Half Elves is because there are other potential aesthetics that can be explored too. The Mag’har allow the Horde to play a unified force of the different Orcish clans, High Elves can allow the Alliance to play the once splintered off High Elf groups.

The thing is whenever there is some war thing or whenever there’s a big gathering, nearly all mages are high elves, that’s how it is in Alliance. Nelf mages make no sense, so it’s always humans and high elves, would make sense to make them playable.

I don’t care that much about HEs, but seeing how awful the anti-HEs are, I can’t help but throw my support in. I’m drawing a lot of parallels to when talking about classic was taboo, but we kept fighting for it and look at how popular it will be now. High elves would be extremely popular and I hope you guys never give up
