Valar Morghulis.
You have to admit, the conflict between those for playable High Elves and against playable High Elves is a more interesting âwarâ story than Battle for Azeroth.
Thatâs not a very high bar, though.
The potential is there. The pvp possibilities and tension between the two would be more interesting than the age old trope Humans vs. Orcs.
A war that waged underwater for 13 years, ignited by a very short-sighted decision,
suddenly broke out by the time of a day then cast long and terrible warfares that widely-spread across the globe, and everything happened in future probably changed the course of history of this MMO world forever.
Are you talking about BFA?
No Iâm talking about BFH
Also, how about posting your long thread of reasons why youâre against High Elves being made a playable race for the Alliance here? This way everyone can notice it and discuss it. Having it split apart makes it difficult for both sides to talk it over smoothly. Also, you may get people that are more knowledgeable of the lore and in-game effects and can open our eyes, whether they be for or against playable Alliance High Elves.
Honestly if Lydon wants to do his thing over in another thread, let him.
It keeps this one cleaner, which allows us to have productive conversations like we were doing with the concept art and whatnot.
When it was like that, it was a far more toxic enviornment lol.
I personally think itâs good they have their own thread even though i donât bother with it.
Haha, this thread dislikes my existence enough. I thin both sides were fine having a Pro and Anti thread separately, and arguing in both.
Having two sides discussing it, though it may not be cleaner, it would be more productive. We can point things out, debunk it or not, and possibly begin understanding the opposition. He is more than welcome to change my mind, as I am more than welcome to change his, if he is open to it.
Itâs not productive, though. Itâs circular. Someone new enters the discussion and raises the same argument from last week, and those points are hashed out again until someone else comes along and restarts another debunked argument that needs to be redebunked.
If the thread only had the same people posting in it, maybe progress would be made. But inevitably newcomers from both sides come in and restart old circular discussions. Thereâs no real progress, especially when you consider that there are rusted-ons on both side who arenât even going to be persuaded anyway. It all becomes noise.
Still wondering why Void Elves exist when a way better set in lore race couldâve existed⊠You have my support, hope Blizzard pays attention eventually.
Are you, by chance, asking:
"Why did you decide to go with Void Elves, when High Elves seemed to be a more organic, and popular choice?"
Well , I think this was gone over already:
Still has me wondering regardless. I saw this before and the only thing that comes to mind is excuses and lack of commitment to the world they created.
You got a point there and Lydon has expressed being content with having two separate threads. It would be nice if knowledgeable people from both sides can go ahead and have this debate on Youtube or something. Think it would be a good way to get an overall understanding.
It wonât get anywhere just because someone puts it on YouTube.
This is an issue similarly deadlocked on EU, MMO Champion, and reddit when they care.
Equally opposing groups to the last.
I still think Half Elves are the true answer to find âbi-partisanâ support, and a truer compromise than Void Elves were.
But I think something like that should be left to a future feature that could be added. Mixing races together for individual fantasy.
I just want to say âthank youâ to you, Casmir, and everyone else, for your continued support for playable High Elves. You guys really are BAMFs. Truly. If one day we get our well-deserved race, it will be because of all the work you heroes have put into the campaign.
WoW needs a mixed-race rep more than it needs a third Thalassian Elf, or a 5th Elf in general.
I have to say, this is a truly interesting subject of discussion. It canât be denied that both sides have valid reasons and both sides have their fair share of desperate people to get what they want.
