High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

In this case there is no change. Elves are a long lived race and we’ve already seen the blood elves green eyes turn back to gold in a matter of decades. But really, you can’t give customizations to the alliances version of high elves and not also give them to the horde. That would be hypocritical to say the least.

They are completely different groups who live completely different lives.

There’s no reason they have to share every feature.

I’m all for earning them. I believe all the allied races should be like this, but if I has to pick the allied race we’d have to work to earn, the High Elves would be the first. They are in a difficult position themselves and will need extra convincing to bring their entire forces to the Alliance cause.

I think most people here want more than just an ideological difference between High Elves and Blood Elves, So I don’t think that is much of an argument here.

Most people do want the 2 groups to look different. Maybe not to the extent you are suggesting but most people do.

It doesn’t just have to be Silver covenant, (even though I think they could bring them back and make them relevant again) could also be a new group, they pulled Void Elves from nowhere i’m sure they could think of something.

From the perspective of a race of people that live to be over 3,000 years old… yes they are completely the same. They literally are the same set of people who were alive when that 1% of the original population split off, because they’re all still alive. This isn’t like a distant generation or something like that. Really, the high elves that split will probably come back in a few decades and it will be like a single year in a human life.

A few years living a different lifestyle can change your posture, which changes the body, and depending if they changed areas in which they live (which they have), their skin. So yeah, enough changes can occur within a short amount of time.

The main thing I will just mention here for both sides is that we both want different things. We could have valid reasons or not, but will continue to push for what we believe is best. I believe there is more support for High Elves, rather than not. I believe there are more facts supporting High Elves as a playable race as well, but there are also some facts that suggest that there will be some nuisances. In the end, I know a lot of people want them and that they can easily be implemented in the game and make sense.

Pretty much this.

There’s no reason not to add new things to High Elves just because they started from the same groups.

Some have been living in Dalaran for 3000 years for example. Some out in the woods for 30 years. Some have abolished arcane magic.

Lots of reason for them to be different.

If you’re really the one that did this, then I absolutely have to praise you for your skill. Only bit of critique I may have is the tattoos. Look too much like Demon Hunter tattoos.

Maybe, I was also thinking about doing something with more swirls, like Alleria’s tattoo, but this design it’s mostly specific to my character
(And yes, it is I lol. I draw stuff, and lately I have been playing with Blender for model editing )

And the Blood elves would probably come back to the Alliance in a few decades and will still be a short period compare to thousands years of history of Azeroth，so why don’t let high elf that already on Alliance become playable first? after blood elves come back we can still reunion together under blue banner.

I’d argue we can still hit san’lyn and HElves and then we’re done forever

There was a big push for San’lyn early in the expansion when that one blew up that gnome
