High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

It might seem like there’s a lot opposing it but there’s really not. It’s only a matter of time.

Fyre has been making this argument for a very long time and it doesn’t get less wrong each time.

Those were border skirmishes.

I don’t think so, queldorei has been the first request for years.
I think the Main Queldorei supporters are in Reddit.

Doesn’t matter, High Elves still exist for the Alliance.

The small amount of one-time use Ogres isn’t stopping the Ogres Allied Race thread.

ogres arent an identical race that already exists on the opposite faction

blizzard clearly perceives the request for playable alliance high elves to be all about getting the aesthetic for the alliance, just the skin tones in other words

as i said before, even ion called it out

If High Elves are in the Horde, how is possible that there are so much High Elves in the Alliance at the same time? That should mean that they are at least in both factions.

There’s meta reasons for opposing High Elves becoming playable. What I aimed to point out was, taken as any “I want this race playable for my faction” request, the High Elves are no different other than actually having support in the form of the game itself showing them fighting for the Alliance and being part of it.

Whereas people are making requests of races where they’ve only been shown one-time in one expansion to help the Horde or Alliance, or are not even part of the groups proper at all.

That is what I meant by “High Elves on Alliance are very well supported” because the game itself is supporting its desire.

And this is why I asked you to find me another NPC race that fights for Horde as much as High Elves do for the Alliance across multiple expansions.

You will find none I bet.

There’s also meta reasons for asking for them.

Ogres also don’t support the Horde across multiple expansions, unlike what we see with the High Elves on Alliance. This is my point.

Oh good. That’s easy to prove wrong given and the story and lore we talk about as well as all the more gritty suggestions.

Guess it wasn’t about Blood Elf identity at all so we have nothing to worry about.

Unless you think looks is all there is to the Blood Elf identity. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Yeah but if you take away all meta reasons, using just the game is sufficient enough to see that High Elves are part of the Alliance, simply unplayable.

Again, where’s the Horde equivalent NPC race that helps across multiple expansions? Nowhere.

The game can speak for itself in terms of High Elves being part of the Alliance is the point.

It was the Goblins, but they got those.

But mainly I meant is there an NPC Horde race that’s lasted as long as High Elves that are unplayable?

Like as it is right this moment, Horde does not have an equivalent to High Elves on Alliance.

“Dark Ranger”

That’s a bad example. They follow Sylvanas only. I’m betting once she gets the bat, they’ll be gone as well.

They’re not really a race either, but that prerequisite was thrown out the moment Void Elves and Lightforged Draenei arrived.

I’m just saying there doesn’t need to be some crazy justification for wanting any race, especially if it’s part of the faction you’re wanting it on.

And even if it wasn’t, there doesn’t need to be a reason more than “I want to play it”.

Like we can have these meta discussions all day, but at the end of it all that matters is it’s being asked for and if Blizzard wants to grant it now or later or not.

For now we know it’s not in BFA for High Elves. But who knows for the next expansion or the one after that, or the one after that.

The nice thing is, people don’t have to wait around staying subbed. It’ll come of it does, it won’t if it won’t. Just like how badly I wanted Demonhunters in this game before. It came when I wasn’t even playing, subbed, nor following WoW news.

I do not mean in terms of people supporting them. I mean in terms of points. Void elves put another nail in the coffin.

There are meta reasons asking for them.

Here is the thing though, we see that in every other race we encounter such as Jinyu, or Hozen, or even murlocs at times. Simply because a race fights for your side does not imply they will or should become playable, particularly when that race already exists in the form of blood elves.
It isn’t as if there is no existing playable form, it is right there, in the very avatar you are using.

If they are the same as blood elves, except blue, then what is it really you’re seeking outside of the ability to play a horde race on the alliance side?
let alone void elves are the same, except blue with tentacles. So clearly it is a matter about aesthetics if people are dissatisfied.

Again, this isn’t a matter of them not being playable.
it is a matter of them being playable on the alliance side. As Ion said, they exist on the horde.
People can keep going “but there are high elves on the alliance and they have been there forever.”.
okay, and I understand that, but there are other races that have worked alongside each faction in one capacity or another, and the behavior of the high elves in WoW is purely a prop for the blood elves to be pitted against, and not as an independent race.

Even if we did accept their history as a valid argument, it clearly means nothing because instead of going to the alliance, they went to the horde in TBC.

If void elves didn’t exist? Sure, maybe an argument could be made, but they exist. It would make no sense for alliance to get two bites of the apple to the horde’s one. On a race that, to quote Ion “Have different colored eyes.”. Which even that turned out not to be true because there have been blood elf NPC’s with blue eyes.

So…what is there to argue for them other than “well they fought for us.”.
okay well the majority of high elves are fighting for the horde now.
Just liek how even though there are occassionally humans fighting with the horde, it doesnt mean they will be playable.
