Still, its a yikes quote.

I don’t know if you know this, but this was a reply to someone else’s post to point out their flawed logic. I do not care about traitor elves on horde.

I thought it was a response to Fyre’s mention of faction identity. Because thats what you quote to in response. Its just from the post I saw.

And i relatively dont care about either, but I care less about the ones who wear blue.

Seeing how you’re active in High Elf related threads since last year, I’m a little skeptical about it.

I like you guys? Is participating in the community not an option?

Some info on allied races.

I made a poll in MMO-C to see which allied races are most liked by people there. Still waiting for more votes to be computed there, but so far it seems the most liked ones are Zandalari, then void elves, then dark irons and then vulpera(!), despite the last one not being available (yet).

https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2489910-For-curiosity-s-sake-Best-Worst-Allied-Races

But what’s more interesting is to read the comments. Some people truly love void elves, and some truly hate them, but everyone, even the fans, talk bad about their lore, lol.

Void Elves are (behind)pulls too but at least they are our first real void-based race so it’s unique enougj.

I’m not gonna pretend void elves have good lore or anything, but it has a lot of potential and offers something totally unique to the Alliance, a race with a bit of an edge (understatement of the year).

My heavy dislike for these two come from their lore. Or complete lack thereof, in case of Void Elves.

How can anyone like Void Elves or even Lightforged Draenai? They’re like the biggest (behind)-pulls in wow lore history

The Void Elf was a bit of a weird (behind) pull to start with, but Blizz has done masterfully working them into the world to the point where they feel like a perfect antithesis that the Alliance needed. I’d like to see something done with the High Elf story at some point, but that doesn’t IMO count against the Void Elves themselves.

Void Elves, even if they are one of the biggest (behind)pulls ever in gaming history afaik. But in the end, they represent a “dark” addition to the Alliance (a bill that Worgen have completely failed to fit), and add a potential storyline about their certainly strained relationship with LF Draenei.

The worst - void elves - an ultimately idiotic excuse to add the blood elf character model to the Alliance, with really dumb backstory. But their addition and their backstory is quite fitting for this expansion,in which the whole lore is a pile of (waste),written by really untalented people.

Imagine actually liking void elves.

Velfs: One of the best models ingame finally availbale for the alliance. Still an incredibly roundabout and idiot way to make it happen.

Void Elves for being (behind) pull lore to spite High Elf fans

When we complain about void elf lore, even people who like void elves agree.

It’s no wonder why they fail to appease people who like WoW for its lore.

IDK, saying that she could “get a similar appearance in canon through other means of magic” feels entirely baseless.

Like all that the HS card tells me is that Vereesa could end up relying more on arcane in game? Maybe in an aesthetic way that shos in game? And even that is like, a small chance. Cause really all we are seeing in her card is that she is channeling arcane thus bathed in pinkish glow with pink eyes.

Theres lore?

EDIT: Wait, did you also reveal your true form on MMOC?! I dont know what to do with this info.

It was never a secret… but whatever.

shrugs I just make a big deal out of it for reasons.

Hearthstone seeds ideas, but how they go canon is another story. Tortollans there were different from what Tortollans ultimately ended up as in canon.

What I find interesting about the Vereesa artwork is the choice of color for her magic. Thori’dal glows blue in-game, high elves have blue eyes, arcane is often portrayed as blue or a mix of blue and pink.

Vereesa’s power in the card is entirely pink/magenta/whatever. And even Thori’dal is glowing unlike its canon appearance.

When I first heard of void elves, I expected them to be elves with purple eyes. There’s even a Tyrande skin (Eagle Eye Tyrande) in HotS that I took as a basis for a possible void elf look-alike.

https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/heroesofthestorm/images/7/72/Tyrande_-_EE_-_Purple.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160802213531

When I saw that image of Vereesa, it immediately made me remember that.

And, considering the direction Blizzard seems to be moving towards, is it that farfetched to think that this Vereesa appearance may end up becoming canon through void rather than arcane?

There is literally nothing to suggest this has anything to do with Void. It isn’t even the right shade.

And we know Dalaran has ranges of purple for its Arcane Magic.

Sight
I’m not saying it’s void in the card.
I’m saying the void may be how a similar appearance could be achieved in future canon.

Because Hearthstone may hint at things, but doesn’t mean things will be exactly like it.

Does anyone get that feeling that happened when the Wall of No was a thing when they read the same “Ion said this and the horde is waiting for you and if you want this type of elf then youll have to play horde” over and over over?

Players can discuss the idea of high elves becoming playable. The same spam messages are just an attempt at derailment.

so pretty much exactly what high elves have been doing for thousands of years, even post rebranding? as for the attempt to distance the farstriders from quel’thalas thing; farstriders are the first and main defense of silvermoon. they dont patrol the city they are out there near the borders. thats why they have so many lodges because they spend so much time out there scouting. its literally why lidarin can run around with a large batallion destroying the alliance in warfronts and kul tiras incursions

if you dont care about the faction identities, then the solution to your problem of not being able to play a fair skinned and majestic elf is obvious :tipping_hand_woman:

Blood Elves don’t have any lodges. They all went Alliance.

And yes, Blood Elf culture looks down on Farstriders. They openly mock you for asking where the hunter trainer is and they have almost zero screen time outside the starting zone.

They even had to ask the Silver Covenant for help in Cataclysm because they where not strong enough to fend off the Amani.

If the only thing you value about your character is skin shades then it’s not unique at all given it’s shared by half a dozen races.

why bother posting stuff like this that is easily refuted

The Farstriders are an elite group of blood elf rangers active in Quel’Thalas. They are led by the Ranger-General of Silvermoon Halduron Brightwing. who succeeded Sylvanas Windrunnerafter the Third War. The Farstriders are based in Silvermoon City, but they have several camps and lodges scattered all across Quel’Thalas. They are considered part of the blood elf government.

Intimately bound to the wildlands, and with a deep respect for the law, the rangers that compose the Farstriders’ ranks remain noble, traditional, and valiant protectors of blood elf society.

There are no Blood Elf lodges in game or any specific ones in lore. That article may need to be edited.

So no, they are not a large part of Blood Elf society. Given the other things I said it’s safe to say they are on the decline.

Literally everything you say.
