I’m aware of the twitter post, but it’s better for a dev to not admit the mistake and play it off as though they have made plans in advance. It’s a far more satisfying and interesting response than just being told “Oh sorry, looks like we picked the wrong skin.” Keep in mind that this character was created before the name of the Blood Elf skin files, the ones with the blue eyes, were changed to specify them as High Elf skins
Lanesh has been nothing more than a repair vendor. No quests, no story, nothing. I find it far more likely that the person who created the NPC chose one of the skin options that included blue eyes and left it at that
I think that’s the most realistic way of thinking. On the plus side now that Lanesh has been acknowledged by Blizz they may actually do something with him
