Right. You’re setting people up to ask how you’re doing so you can throw that on them so you can get a “oh I’m sorry to hear that!”.
Either you don’t actually have it, or you get a high off people pitying you. I know plenty of people who have things wrong with them and they wear it like a badge of honor and get this sick high off the attention for it.
Maybe I’m in the wrong here. I in no way went to discredit people who have depression or who are having a difficult time otherwise. I see no problem with coming to a place like GD to talk to people. Seems like that’s something you wanted. No, I don’t want you to lie to them. But it’s very clear saying things like “yeah depression has me by the grips, feeling worthless” isn’t something you just throw in normal conversation. No, you set people up to ask you so you can blindside them with it.
If you’re having a hard time.... just say it. Make that your thread. Don’t trick people into thinking this is a pleasant “hey how is everyone!” Just to give it a dark turn.
Again, I could be wrong. Maybe it was all innocent and you really think depression and the feeling of worthlessness is something you just throw in a casual conversation. I apologize for any offense you may take. And if you’re having a hard time, if that’s how you’re feeling, then I’m truly sorry.

Pretty good today. I’ve just watched 9 episode of the National Geographic series called “One Strange Rock”. Its a fascinating series.
