Scary thought: Those Elves stay in a child-like form for hundreds or thousands of years. Bernard was apparently the oldest and look at him.
To last that long, they would either have to be deceptively powerful or have no natural enemies.
Either one means that in their environment, they must be an apex predator.

That’s how orcas managed to live so long, they’re the top predator of the planet. Nothing else eats them.
I assume we’re not including humans there? I’d be more surprised to learn there was some animal humans haven’t tried to eat at some point in the past.
