if you have not purchased a new case already, it finally went “live” today.
Thanks for the headsup - The 275R Airflow arrives today, LOL
Interesting note: my 8700k started life in a hand me down Corsair Obsidian 750D - it was great but enormous and didn’t fit anywhere. So I went to Fry’s to get another case that would fit in my space.
I tend to flip flop cases. I had an Antec 900 but that was too big. Next case was the Antec 300 but that was too small. Then went with the CM HAF 912 and Corsair 400r and both are too big. Now I have a phanteks P400A and I feel it’s too small…and that damn Montech 900 is still sitting in its box and seems bigger
One day you’ll find the right case. one day.
For me, i have an L-shaped desk with a triple monitor stand attached to it, with a VIVO corner shelf for my keyboard. Underneath i have my computer on the right and my sub on the left, and I need to have the PC be just the right size to fit under the desk.
edit: aaaand shipping delayed until tomorrow. lol
Did you mean the 4000D?
This DOES look appealing…it is a little larger than what I would want though. But yeah…this looks pretty good.
so that’s funny as it is 4000D but both Toms and wccftech list it as both. I saw the news on both sites and figured it was in line with the 400R and 400C. I fixed the title accordingly.

One of Corsair’s newest cases, the Corsair 4000D has been before Corsair officially announced this PC case to the public. The 400D features either a solid front panel or a high-airflow front panel with holes (to allow intake fans to pull in as much as needed for the system).

Corsair’s 4000D and 4000D Airflow cases (which were first spotted on Amazon back in July) get official today. The ATX cases both sport an understated boxy design with a tool-free tempered-glass side panel. The key difference between the two is the 4000D has a solid steel front (with vents on the sides), while the 400D Airflow’s front is generously ventilated with a diamond pattern. We have both models on the test bench, and you can expect reviews soon to see if they land on our page.
How is Montech? I’ve been seeing them popup.
I saw them on Amazon too, but they seem to all have the same fad-design of completely flat front panels focused on negative air pressure
I received several of their products for free to review. I’m not 100% sure of the fan & mouse pad OEMs but the parent company is Telon who have made cases for years that look eerily similar to thermaltake (who does not make cases so…). I would say they are similar in quality to thermaltake cases for about $5-10 less and I would have no issue recommending them as a budget case. In fact for the dollar they are hard to beat considering how many fans they give you.
So what do you think - Should I try to get the 3080?
Here’s Tom’s hardware FF14 benchmark - Given I’m on the 5700XT, I stand to gain up to 67% improvement based on this and potentially actually hit my 144hz display refresh rate. OR, cap it at maybe 85fps and have a silent system.

It’s a 325w heater in your case. If the 5700xt is doing its job I would personally stick with it (especially if you plan to cap FPS) and wait for the RTX 3070 ti or super plus see what will be AMD’s response…but if you really want it hey the thing laughs at every game out there at 1440p. It’s the current performance king.
I’m actually surprised - normally the reviewers dont benchmark games i actually play, so i was excited to see this on FF14.
That engine does seem to be Nvidia biased as is, as the AMD cards seem to do poorly in this title relative to other games.
I’m waiting to see what the 3070 looks like - and also what AMD brings to the table. I think you should wait since everything I’ve seen you post indicates that you’ve been happy with the 5700xt
and this…
copy cat
Doesn’t matter; bots got them all anyway
don’t fret. They will all be on ebay or amazon 3rd party for twice their original price.
