New features might be valuable, but this is once again like a 50% increase in font size and white (brown) space with the corresponding reduction into how much fits on my monitor at once.
I tried reducing the page scaling to counteract it but it just added a bunch more brown space around all the outside margins, !?!?!?
If it were on a 1-10 scale with 1 being HATE, and 10 being LOVE, I’d still be somewhere between 4 and 5. I like the real time updates, but it seems like there’s an abundance of features that are only marginally useful
Navigation is more or less the same but you don’t have to load a new page every dozen posts/threads. There’s some -extra- stuff that might be confusing on the merit of it being new to you, but that shouldn’t come off as “ridiculous”.
I think a lot of people just dislike change, period.
I’m liking it. It’ll take some time to get used to but real time updates is pretty cool. Feels a bit weird on mobile… But other than that they’re fine.
I have yet to see how it works fully, but already it feels a bit more clunky to utilize from a mobile. My whole page refreshes when I like something, which is a tad bit annoying.
But I do like the idea of being able to post gifs and stuff if you’re trusted. Things could get a lot more exciting.
I kinda like seeing more metrics, but I’m really torn on the looks, and it seems like some things are overly complicated. Not that I won’t get used to it, but the old forums had a simple but efficient design, at least in terms of looks. I know they had archaic back-end stuff.
So far, it’s a bit overwhelming. The infinite scrolling I instantly dislike. Long forum discussions are going to be a work out I think to scroll through. The instant updating is a cool feature. It’s harder to get a quick overview of the discussion as well since so much of the screen real estate is taken up with the larger font layout and added buttons. I imagine it will get easier with more familiarity.
