I’d follow Yrel’s lead.
I think somebody doesn’t really understand character development. When it comes to Anduin, he has gone through a lot and is still working his way up to it. He tried and basically failed during Battle for Azeroth. I don’t think he truly understood what it meant to be king and live with regret until after Shadowlands. I feel like this expansion is the one that makes him see the Light (pun intended) and figure out just who he is and what he wants. He and Faerin could very well rule Stormwind as king and queen for a very long time and send Turalyon back to take care of Alleria once everything with Xal’atath is completed.
Of course I’d like Anduin back as king. Better than having a council of people that don’t even want to be there.
Please just stop already. This is beyond boring at this point.
Men play this game too. Let the King of SW remain a king already.
I think the girls have had their power plays already and they’re just as boring as all the he-men out there.
as long as its not tyrande. im so sick and tired of night elves taking over every story. baine and the centaur got their story highjacked by tyrande and im still angry about that
Yeah, the person in charge of writing anduin.
i only play alliance for racials played horde for many years. could care less for whoerver leads the alliance the wow writers have been hacks lately i wont forget what they did to arthas in systemlands
Honestly, at this point, yes. The more people hate him for bad reasons I like him more. I didn’t care about him very much during BFA and before, he was just kind of there. Now? Manduin is king.
I think, after having been kidnapped by the horde, saved by a member of the black dragon flight, orphaned because of the Legion, failed in battle, possessed by an underworld being, losing and regaining his power, and just about ready to take the throne I would say he’s had quite the story. Granted it’s not the story that some people wanted and he’s not the king that some people want but that’s subjective not objective and some of us have perspective
Ok so? his character always stay steadfast after all of this, he got down but he rose up again, he faced the challenges.
But some mumbo jumbo magic from the janitor, who made him kill no one, broke him to this sad state? that is not Anduin, that is another character they wanted to shoehorn this story, this “arc”, and pretend anything before Legion did not exist
well, it looks like you’re pretty locked into your opinion. So I’ll leave you to it. Have a great night.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Well, I play alliance and the OP asked for an opinion and I gave it. Quite honestly, I care less about who rules SW as opposed to who leads the Faction and I don’t believe that the two have to be synonymous, but I also think that most do. I could easily be wrong.
I agree that the writing has been boring all around in this regard (and others) but I’m suggesting this under the hope with ole’ Metzen having his toe in the water again could change that.
Fair. I think that she could be great in the role but I can definitely understand why it would turn others off.
Anduin abandoned the throne to go sulk. Highly unworthy, 4/10 would not coronate.
The Alliance never should have had a king to begin with. It should be an alliance, like the name suggests.
The Horde having a council and the Alliance having a Warchief is so unbelievably backwards.
No, Anduin just sucks. He was good in MoP but ever since they killed off Varian he’s been a sad, depressing, albatross around the neck of the story. He’s like a smelly bag of trash in the kitchen that I really want someone to take out to the can.
Not that the Alliance has any leader-type characters that are any better. They’re pretty much all awful. Velen is OK but his story is over, so what’s the point. Genn had a window where he could have been good but they squandered it and made him suck. Jaina just… enough of her already. Same with Tyrande and Malfurion.
I say make Aysa Cloudsinger the Alliance leader. She’s such a blank slate that maybe they can do something with her without messing it up.
Now this is actually a really interesting suggestion. If they did the writing correctly (gawd help up) she could be an outstanding direction to go in.
With The Horde more or less quelled for the foreseeable future, the Alliance shouldn’t even have the High King position.
Canonically both factions have been more or less benched since BFA’s 4th war concluded. The first major action we’ve seen from either side is the arrival of a combined fleet towards the end of the Kaz Algar campaign.
The Alliance should just go back to each member nation kind of doing their own thing.
it SUBVERTING EXPECTATIVES! you don’t understand the beauty of it! /s
Just show, again, how the current devs have no idea how factions are suppose to work, thats why they dont write two campaigns anymore, and its everything neutral, neutral races, neutral quests, neutral(alliance) characters ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz
I play both sides, so speaking for my alliance main:
"Yes, I love Anduin. It’s refreshing to have a character as nuanced, and damaged as he’s been. Typically male characters are all testosterone, and no substance. More often than not they’re boring, and one-dimensional.
Anduin’s reaction to Thrall putting his hand on his shoulder in the cinematic carried more weight to it than anything Garrosh did. Yeah, I said it. Garrosh sucked.
The man was mind controlled, and lost his sense of self, his journey to rediscovery has been great. We’ll get a better leader out of it as opposed to him being Mr. Bottles Up His Feelings Because A Man Having Feelings Makes Your Man Feelings (that you don’t have of course, no no no no no no no) Feel Things You Don’t Like.
In short Andy is great, and it’s been nice to not have a toxic masculine driven cliche in the story for once. Some of the best writing Blizzard has done in ages. Full Stop."
