Heroism classes

Nah your argument just isnt good

I think bloodlust/heroism should be removed from all classes, including shaman. Its existence has created a barrier for entry with m+ pugs to the point where they will deny an invite based solely on the fact that you (and the rest of their current group) do not have bloodlust.

It would not surprise me if encounters were tuned on the existence of bloodlust, which means it’s considered a baseline requirement for content. But even if that’s not the case, it’s far too powerful of a group buff to not give it to everyone … or, alternatively, remove it entirely.

It’s how I feel about debuffs, as well. Every healer should be able to remove every debuff (magic, curse, disease, and poison), otherwise you create a scenario where groups will pass on certain classes. Or if you want to avoid randoms in this hypothetical, let’s say you have a friend group you run dungeons with that can’t remove curses. You won’t do as well in certain content as a group who can deal with the debuff. Are you supposed to just sit your friends on the bench for that one?

It’s nonsense, anti-player, lazy game design. You can have class flavor and diversity without creating what amounts to a meta comp. If there’s a single ability that can dramatically affect the outcome of an encounter, you either give it to everyone or you get rid of it.

Warriors could use some utility so I could see them getting it. Monks I would be ok with having it too. Warlocks… no. You have too much unique utility as it is.

Eh, I think it’s important to keep lust, it is useful for groups to work around their specific weaknesses and is good for planning purposes.

It just needs more classes. I’d be down for if a class doesn’t have bres it has lust

Mage
Evoker
Shaman
Hunter

I think that’s a third of the classes already. There’s also drums because this game has an economy, and brez cables too.

Warrior should have a lust called ā€œBeserkingā€ and Priest should have a brez called ā€œPalingenesisā€. MW monk should have a brez called ā€œSamsaraā€.

Id like a tank or 2 with with heroism to loosen up groups a bit in keys. Too many groups sitting around with 3 non-hero dps were any tank works but they limit themselves to a shaman or evoker for heals cause they need that hero. Whether thats by adding shaman tanks or giving warriors lust i dont really care.

Could also just unnerf drums, theres a quality system right there that could easily be applied: 1 star is the 15%, 2 star is 20% 3 is 25% instead of the pitifal ones we have now.

As long as we also do something similar with brez utility items, etc

The goal is, we really need to strip down all utility from classes, obviously.

If they wanna slap on a quality modifer and have it rez people from farther range or with higher health based on it sure.
I already have a hardcast on mine or have to use resources on it to make it instant so i dont mind any checks and balances.

The brez item already has quality, affects cast time

To be fair. It needs to have around 85% of the cast time and range.

Maybe a .2 second cast time with 35 yard range

There really needs to be almost zero noticable difference.

So better than most brezes from classes?

Whats the current cast time, its a solid 2 seconds to rebirth as resto and balance, feral gets kicked out of catform and has the hard cast, bear has to spend 30 rage.

Dks gotta spend runic power, pallies stuck using holy power or a cast time. Unlike heroism brez actually takes resources or time more then a gcd so id say full range but 2.5 second or greater cast would be balanced out.
Have the health returned scale off of item quality since drums will still always be worse then hero, engi brez should still be slightly worse then class brez.

What if heroism was no longer a class skill at all, but instead was a contextual button the group leader gets. I think that’d be the best way to do it.

…mostly because I hate being responsible for pressing it when I’m the only one in the group who has it…

I don’t know about the group leader in particular lol, then I’d have to press it

Whatever the average is, 15% worse.

The main thing is, we have to make sure to strip down class uniqueness and make everyone the same.

Why even tie it to an item.

Zone into m+, everyone just gets a brez, lock candy, lust button to push.

Chuck bfa scrolls in for knock-off class buffs and we got a deal.

Bingo.

We really need to make classes useless.

None of that rpg flair in my mmo.

I would love to see a repeal of ā€œBring the player, not the classā€. That was when homogenization hit ā€œclass balanceā€ like a ton of bricks.

Classes still have their uniqueness in how they do damage, and other utility outside of that, it’s not like expanding brez and lust suddenly makes classes obsolete

It just shifts the meta to different acceptable classes.

Whereas before, you may not just bring ā€œwho has bigger ae numbersā€. You would balance it with things different classes bring utility wise.

If utility differences dont exist…the only thing that matters is ā€œlol who brings biggest pew pewā€

Now you may augment things with a lust class. Or a brez class to round out your group.

Changes being suggested just means you stack the singular class doing the best on demand ae damage.
