Indeed. I’ve never understood why people get so hung up on picking names, unless they have a brand attached to it, like Swifty or Asmongold. Like, all that matters is you are able to play the game.
Uh, no. You told him he didn’t know what ‘entitled’ means. He proved you wrong. Just because it doesn’t mean what you think it means doesn’t mean he’s trying to appear smart.
And again, if one is not going to get the names they want to reserve at this late hour, knowing that they have 47 slots for characters left upon release, what incentive is there to delete the named characters you already have? Aside from an early start making your character look the way you want, what incentive is there to make them now rather than on release day?
I don’t think we should be fighting with ourselves about this whole scenario, It was blizzard that allowed such populations to exist to test their “layering” and it was blizz that allowed the population to exceed what the server could hold. Non of it is the players fault.
My brother made his characters on Herod and is too stubborn to move to another server because his friends are all on Herod too, so I decided to stay on Herod too. At the least Herod is going to be a crazy nut house for quite awhile. Just have to hope your not the one waiting for 6 hours to get in the game
Real talk? All the realms except the two RP realms and the two JUST added realms are listing as FULL or HIGH… so like:
-interest in classic is higher than Blizz is anticipating, like an awful lot, and number of servers may double in the first two weeks;
-faction balance on PvP servers is gonna be awful, specifically a super high Horde:Alliance ratio that will result in players once again self-segregating, making the imbalance even worse;
-name saving in the face of these problems is gonna be nearly worthless, as guilds/individuals are forced to flee queues and overburdened servers;
-new servers might have a name with better cachet, which may cause a run at that server (Herod had an instantly recognizable and oddly appropriate PvP name);
-even with people that are willing to move servers for a better experience, Herod and a few of the other servers are gonna be stuffed full of players for months as hardliners that got their name or are unwilling to move for any reason will just slog through anything to stay.
A lot of people from really renowned guild on my server, including my own are going herod, so yes im going to go to the same server with the small community that miraculously still exists on retail.
At this point im prepared for 40k queues, I consider it a fair price for getting to play on a really well populated server that is guaranteed to be fine once a mass drop off occurs, on top of that ill have my guild who Ill be ganking because nothing says comraderie like killing someone with full world buffs.
you wont see me complaining on launch day, because I was warned after all.
